Buddhist precepts of today's era

What are the commandments? The precept is to do something and prevent evil: the law is to do something and it is the law of our behavior. If everyone is self-disciplined, isn't the world we live in a paradise that doesn't close at night?

The third commandment of not being evil is used to maintain the ethical relationship of a society. If human beings turn a blind eye to the precept of not doing evil, society will be chaotic, interpersonal relationships will be chaotic and morality will be corrupted. What is the future of such a society? Article 4. Don't talk nonsense It is wrong to say that what you say is false, and that what you say is not true. If a society, people's communication, dishonesty, casual talk, and even take pleasure in provoking right and wrong, self-praise, and destroying him, society will eventually present a chaotic scene, from loss of morality to death, to the country. Finally, the fifth abstinence from drinking refers to things that can confuse people's minds, including alcohol and drugs. You can think about how serious the harm of drugs is now, which has affected primary school students, and its harm can extend to life. In fact, things that can confuse the mind are bound to cause disasters, and the disasters caused by drunk driving or promiscuity after drinking can be imagined.

It can be seen that observing the five commandments is not self-restraint, but the golden rule of self-protection, because when we understand the purpose and significance of prohibition, we will be more alert when dealing with people.

The Five Commandments are the traditional education of Buddhism, so what does it have to do with the modern world? Buddha's education is not limited by time and space. Even in today's space age, it can still play its role. Take Steve Jobs, the late founder of Apple Computer, as an example. He was a Buddhist. After practicing meditation, my thinking is clearer and my career is higher indirectly. . If we want to quantify the effect of Buddha's education, Jobs's life is an obvious example.

In fact, the benefits of Buddha's education to all sentient beings are not only to make people's careers constantly create new heights? And then what? Its function is to improve a person's comprehensive quality, and these improvements are not only experienced in his career, but also his inner happiness will affect his personality, family and interpersonal relationships. When a person's overall quality is becoming more and more perfect, the so-called career success is only a part of his overall promotion.

Now that science and technology are developed, it has brought convenience and distress to people. When you open the newspaper, you can see people's tragedies every day, which revolve around women, money, wine and meat, etc. Out of the scope of killing, stealing, smashing, jumping and drinking. Only Buddhism can prevent people from corruption. Because the root of Buddhism lies in precepts, such as national laws and group statutes, which are inseparable for a moment. If we want Buddhism to really play its role in enlightening wisdom, we must apply Buddhist precepts harmoniously, purify people's hearts in society, and be happy and friendly. This is the essence of Buddhism and the foundation of Buddhism.
