Since ancient times, our China culture has manifested itself externally as Confucianism and internally as Buddhism, which is the difference between China culture and the West. The so-called foreign Confucianism means that China society has always been centered on ethics, that is, our society can exist because of its own unity without being eliminated by the times. From the smallest scope, Wu Lun is a couple, and then a family. There are father and son brothers at home. Outside the family, there is a society, and society has friends. Five ethics are the foundation of our Chinese national unity, and morality is based on benevolence, righteousness, propriety, wisdom and faith in the five permanents; In other words, ethics will always be the personality of China people; Having these five normal ways is to obtain human qualifications; People are different from animals because they have ethical ways. This is manifested externally. But the inner trend of China people is mostly Buddhism. Buddhism spread to China for about 1700 or 800 years, and now it can be said that it has become a pure Buddhism in China, which is different from Indian Buddhism. In other words, after Buddhism was introduced into China, it has been integrated with China culture. The content of Buddhism is not to worship God, nor to worship God; Buddhism recognizes that the universe has both gods and gods. In Buddhism, the relationship between God and us is equal, and there is not much difference. It seems that when a China national meets a foreign head of state, although he can't control us, he should be treated with courtesy. We have the same attitude towards ghosts and gods. The difference in intelligence is not the difference in wisdom, virtue and ability, but the difference in the depth of confusion about the universe and life; People who are deeply confused are stupid, while shallow people are wise. The so-called' Buddha' means that he completely broke the chaos and the existing wisdom and virtue can be completely restored; On the contrary, persistence is called sentimentality. It can also be said that the Buddha is an awakened sentient being, and all sentient beings are confused and inverted Buddhas. Therefore, after Buddhism was introduced into China, it was very popular among China people, that is, Buddhist teachings aimed at enlightening our own hearts.

Only now, culture is like scattered sand, and something must unite it. This kind of thing is ethics-'five virtues' and' eight virtues'. People must first decide their inherent rights in society; After the birthright is decided, there will be due rights and obligations. The so-called husband and wife, father and son, brother, monarch and minister, friend, everyone has these inherent rights; What is the status in the family? What's your status in society? When a person's identity changes, his obligations will be different; Therefore, the five ethics have ten meanings: the husband is righteous and the woman listens, the father is kind and filial, the brother is kind and the younger brother is loyal, the gentleman is loyal, and the friend is obedient for a long time. This is the so-called ten meanings. In other words, the husband must abide by morality and the wife must obey; Parents should be kind and sons should be filial; The so-called monarch and subjects are not necessarily courtiers against kings, but leaders and led classes; For example, when doing business and opening a shop, the boss is the king and the buddy is the minister; The leader must be kind and the led must be loyal. Therefore, the five virtues have ten meanings, and each has its own obligations and duties to do. For example, loyalty, filial piety and benevolence are virtues, and filial piety, loyalty, courtesy, honesty and shame are the basis of being a man. The focus of ethics is filial piety, and China has ruled the world with filial piety since ancient times; Filial piety to parents in the family, leaving the family and turning filial piety into loyalty is filial piety to the country and the nation. Filial piety is the Tao, nothing more than nothing. Filial piety: filial piety, the classics of heaven, the meaning of the earth, and the trip of people. The ancients said, learning from tianwei, Fan Shengde. We should learn from sages, and we should start with filial piety, so as to achieve great virtue. The same is true of Buddha; Buddhism is based on filial piety, so it can become a Buddha. There are clear instructions in the precepts, and filial piety is the precept; Without filial piety, the basic spirit of precepts is gone. The filial piety of Buddhism is to show filial piety to relatives, and then expand this spirit to show filial piety to human beings and all sentient beings, which is wider than the scope of Confucianism. Confucianism stresses filial piety until people, while Buddhism stresses sentient beings, which is the foundation of culture.
