Who exactly was Sun Wukong's master, Bodhi Laozu? Can you introduce it.
Speculation one
Sun Wukong is a stone monkey, many years later some people say that he is the real protagonist of the book, in fact, this is inappropriate, he is only the "first protagonist". Because everyone in the Journey to the West team is the main character, including Dragon Horse.
The Monkey King is a stone monkey, born in the Water Curtain Cave on Mount Huaguo, to educate the master. Cultivate the great Tao. Subduing dragons and tigers strong pinning dead books. A like a golden hoop stick, sweeping the sky and the ground, proud and strong, never obeyed people in life.
The master he was trained by was a man named Bodhi Laozu.
I wrote something a long time ago about the levels and differences between the five immortals of heaven and earth. There I used to have the argument that Bodhi Old Ancestor was inferior to Zhen Yuan Da Xian. It's because Bodhi Old Man once revealed that he could kill Wukong. Since he lived on the earth and could teach a disciple like Sun Wukong, he belonged to the Earth Immortals. And Zhen Yuan is the ancestor of the Earth Immortals. So I was always convinced that Zhen Yuan was stronger than Bodhi and even stronger than Wukong. Until one night not too long ago, that night I was bored and flipping through the Journey to the West, when suddenly, a question came to mind: who the hell is Bodhi?
Contrary to what I had previously assumed, Bodhi, perhaps, was not an Earth Immortal at all!
Because there are too many suspicious points in the middle, and I never noticed them before.
One, after Wukong learned the way to subdue dragons and tigers, he once had an experience of "forcibly canceling the book of death". At that time, the book of life and death in the hell clearly recorded that "Sun Wukong, a monkey born in heaven, should live for three hundred and forty-two years, and end in good health."
Big mistake!
Because we have to know that Wukong has been seven brothers, seven brothers, the other six are not good, from the magical power of God said, should be in the middle. Since Wukong can be and has been strong canceled the death of the registration, then those six? Could it be that the six of them have already canceled their deaths? Is it possible that the earth's capital has to be trampled on by powerful demons every now and then? Is it possible that there is no record of the other six demon kings in hell?
What's more, there are demons in the world that are stronger than the seven demon brothers!
So why was it only Sun Wukong who had such an encounter?
From the division of the five immortals of heaven and earth, heaven and earth, gods, men and ghosts (the order must not be wrong, that Rulai in the CCTV's new Journey to the West didn't get it, his old man said heaven and earth, men, gods, and ghosts, which directly puts Zhang Sanfeng over the Jade Emperor :).
To Wukong graduated from the school after the performance of aptitude, sweeping the heavenly palace, defeat Li Jing Nezha four heavenly kings are real ability. To be able to sweep through the Divine Immortal Realm is at least one level higher in the Earth Immortal Realm. At that time, Wukong did not have the ability to use his body as a cauldron to concoct pills, and he basically relied on eating peaches to accumulate his knowledge in the future. So he could only be an Earth Immortal as well. Given that he really couldn't beat the ancestor of the Earth Immortals, Zhen Yuan Da Xian, he would have been just a little above average in the Earth Immortal realm.
At that time, since Wukong already had the power of an Earth Immortal, he should have been treated as one at the same time. Each of his other six brothers was not harassed by the hell, it should be because they already have the actual ability and treatment of the earth immortal, which ghost immortal dare to mess with them, not to be taken by them to pass the drums to pass the more bells to drink the number has already long live long live long live ......
So Wukong's this quite special encounter, in fact, can only It illustrates one fact: Wukong is not an immortal at all. From the beginning to the end, he simply failed to establish a real pulse-through connection with the immortal world. Therefore, his master, Bodhi Laozu, would likewise not be an immortal!
-Then what exactly are they?
Two, the question of the Demon Mirror.
This question used to bother me for a long time. Twice Wukong openly confronted the Heavenly Palace, and both times he went up against Tota Li Tian Wang, who had the Demon Shining Mirror. But the two encounters before and after, one of which was still under the care of Erlang Shen, this Demon Shining Mirror actually didn't work well once. It posed no threat to Wukong. At that time, the last way to break Goku's change was to lock the pipa bone.
Much later, Goku fought a fierce battle with the Six-Eared Macaque, and it was hard to tell if it was real or fake. When the fight reached the Heavenly Palace, the Demon Mirror made its second appearance, and in the mirror, the two great saints were seen, with identical clothes, gold hoops, and iron rods, indistinguishable from each other!
The strange thing is here, if the mirror is effective for Wukong, there should only be two monkeys in the mirror. ...... Why are they in front of the mirror as if in front of a normal mirror, even clothes and so on can not be filtered out? ......
But we can't say that the mirror is a useless thing, the Bull Demon King is so good, and Wukong fought for a day and a night, fighting wisdom and strength, not losing the wind at all. According to this kind of magic power, the little Nezha is not his opponent! However, once the Demon Shining Mirror shines on the spirit, the old ox can no longer fly and change, and can only obediently be slaughtered as a vegetable ox.
Why is the difference so great?
One day I suddenly remembered Godzilla, remembered that infrared tracking missiles actually can not hit that cold-blooded monster, and suddenly became clear. If, let's assume that the various magic weapons in the immortal world (excluding the direct-impact ones such as the golden rod and mortar and pestle, of course) are all specialized weapons with different positioning, the problem is instantly simpler, and if a person does not possess the conditions necessary for the attack of that magic weapon, then naturally, the magic weapon will not be able to control him.
This issue is more complex, because it is mainly centered around the magic weapon, so let's take a few examples of the feudal gods. As you know Ne Zha is a lotus flower incarnation. The lotus flower does not have a soul, so as soon as Ne Zha was formed, he was not afraid of any magic weapon that targets the soul. This was a great achievement for Nezha, who would otherwise have been relegated to a middle-of-the-road role alongside Huang Tianhua and Wei Gu. (It should be noted that even Ne Zha's master, Tai Yi Zhen Zhen, still has a soul.)
Yang Jian is even better. While Nezha is not afraid of soul-type magic weapons, Yang Jian, on the contrary, is not afraid of anything other than soul-type magic weapons. (At that time, he was only an immortal, but in the whole book, except for the Great Teacher-level treasures such as the Exterminating Sword, which he had to avoid because of the level difference, he would take on all the other slightly lower level treasures of his masters! Wen Zhong's Dragon Whip, Deng Canyu's Five-color Stone, and even Guang Cheng Zi's Jade Hollow Treasure, the Seal of Heaven, he took them all! I've never seen Yang Jian being knocked off his horse by a treasure. (Nezha has been knocked off his horse numerous times, and Huang Tianhua has been knocked off his horse countless times. ......)
And Yang Jian's physical body is immune to all kinds of plagues and poisons, just like Nezha's lotus body.
It's time to explain the seventy-two transformations. The usefulness of this kind of spell is far more than just changing around as we previously thought. We should know that since many magic treasures rely on locking onto a specific target to attack, then the 72 Changes, which are extremely unstable, can in principle avoid all these magic treasures - for example, the SARS virus is very arrogant, but there must be a fortress that cannot be breached by it. fortress that cannot be breached. If a person who knows the seventy-two changes is attacked by the virus, his changes will naturally alter some of his genes, partly into animal genes that are immune to the SARS virus (e.g., he changes directly into the SARS vaccine) ......
Confused? ...... Raise your hand if you got it! Good, it's amazing how many smart people there are!
Seventy-two transformations are just that, and the vast majority of magical treasures should be helpless against this kind of divine power. On top of that, Yang Jian also has a kung fu of the Nine Revolutions of Yuan Gong, which is similar to the Advanced Iron Cloth Shirt and the Vajra Unbreakable, so that after he becomes a Taoist, general direct attacks (fashionably called physical attacks) can be ignored at all.
Wukong's skills in these two disciplines are roughly similar to Yang Jian's. The Old Ox is slightly weaker, with seventy-two attacks. The Old Bull is slightly weaker, with 72 transformations and probably no Nine Turns of Yuan Gong.
As I said before, Seventy-two Changes plus Nine Revolutions of Yuan Gong can withstand almost most magical treasures, except for soulful magical treasures, but, the Demon Shining Mirror is soulful, and this kind of magical treasure, which makes the Old Bull go up to the sky, never has any effect on the Wukong, who is supposed to be effective.
Why?
Three, Wukong's commitment to the Tang Monk was more of a trade at first. The Longevity Monk saved his life, and he protected the Longevity Monk in his quest for the Western Scriptures. In his heart, other than gratitude, he probably never even looked at his master squarely.
A few years later, however, things changed.
Wukong seemed to slowly discover the Longevity Monk, the meaning of fetching scriptures, and more importantly, himself!
He began to value the Tang Priest. At Pingdingshan, he praised the cloudy haze on the Tang Monk's head. At Tongtianhe, he told Lao Chen "My master teaches immortality and long life." At the Lama Temple in front of the Bottomless Pit the Tang Monk was sick for three days at a time, and Lao Sun and knew the cause and effect. Tongtai Province Earth Spirit County met with injustice, Wukong the first night is enduring, is deliberately suffering, because he knows that the master has this fate.
He knew without a teacher that Master was the Golden Cicada, the second disciple of K???a.
Why was it that all these esoteric things came to him?
The Monkey King has always prided himself on the fact that Old Sun doesn't know how many thousands of years. Anyone with a little finesse knew that he was talking big. The Wukong was three hundred and forty-two years old when he was born to become a Taoist and when he was forced to cancel his death registration, and after that, he hung around in the Heavenly Palace for a hundred years, and then he was pressed under the Five Elements Mountain for another five hundred years, which added up to only a thousand years old when he was fully counted. There are plenty of demons of this age.
When Wukong worshipped under the seat of Bodhi Elder Ancestor, the Elder Ancestor said, "If you enter my door, you will be a junior disciple of ten generations." The ranking generation in his door is vast wisdom true nature sea Yingwu Yuanjue, and Wukong is the Wukong generation. But before the book did not give a word of account of this old ancestor, but afterward there was not a word to fill in the narrative. Bodhi disappeared without a trace, mysterious to, as if he had been waiting there for more than three hundred years waiting for that bamboo valve to the sea of monkeys ......
Why did he do this, and who is he really? ......
The old monkey on the Mountain of Flowers and Fruits told Wukong that the only undead people in the world are Buddha and the Immortals and the Sacred.
Which Wukong accomplished more than just being sacred, he lived forever, and as we've already discussed he wasn't actually an immortal, so what was he? --There's only one answer left, he's a Buddhist monk!
Because he's practically a Buddhist disciple, but in reality, Bodhi accomplished Wukong's Buddhist righteousness with his Taoist magical powers. So there is no record of Sun Wukong anywhere. Hell captured him as a process as usual, and the Demon Shining Mirror couldn't possibly go beyond the Immortal Realm to lock down a disciple of the Buddhist Sect!
That's just the way it is.
Sun Wukong spent more than a thousand years before traveling west, so let's make the assumption that just as Wukong broke out of his body and flew out of the Immortal Stone, a baby descended on earth who was born a monk!
This monk slowly grows up, ages, and dies. In his next life, he remains a monk!
This man was a monk for ten lives, to the last of this life, he has been on earth nearly a thousand years, perhaps chance finally coincidentally came to him, when it was the Tang Dynasty. The emperor of the dynasty chose him from among the thousands of Buddhas and monks to carry out a great mission, to take the Western scriptures!
This man was the Tang Monk!
The Tang Monk and the Monkey King, although master and disciple in name, in reality, they were originally one. That ungrateful disciple of the West who disrespected the Three Treasures and was a maverick. He was relegated to the mortal world a thousand years ago, and the cowardly and elegant side of his character that honors Buddhism became the Tang Monk, and the unruly and arrogant side of his character that is proud of heaven and earth entered the immortal stone to become the Monkey King. Bodhi spent ten lifetimes on earth to fulfill Wukong. The Tang Monk spent an even longer period of time to complete his ten lifetimes of seeking the Way of the Way with great difficulty. Wukong and the Tang Monk are both disciples of ten lifetimes! They are simply the two sides of a person's good and evil. That person, the Golden Cicada!
Because the Tang Monk and Wukong are simply one, so, in the fourteen years of the scriptures, Wukong day by day familiar with the Tang Monk is equal to familiar with their own, although it is unruly, but also finally in the unknown which late at night woke up in a dream. Knew the fact that made him pain in the heart, I, not me! Since then he has been clear about the causes and consequences of the millennium, even in the relegation period, he has never forgotten the master who is one with him. He knew y that the Tang monk would not die, because he himself did not die!
The subsequent process is all just a game, a kind of game that gradually recasts the two extremes of good and evil back into one. Remember? When the Spirit Mountain Ceremony, Wukong and the Tang Monk stood side by side, Wukong said to the Tang Monk: "Master, now I have become a Buddha, the same as you ......"
There is a true meaning in this world, and I ask who knows it. Every time I read this, there are tears like pouring. ......
Previous life, the golden cicadas in the shadow of RuLai formed should not have the two sides of good and evil. After a thousand years, the unringing of the bell is still needed to tie the bell. The good side of the Golden Cicada struggled on its own to re-convert to Buddhism, while the evil side of the Golden Cicada would naturally need a booster to help him accomplish the big move of re-converting from evil to good. And the first step in that process was to teach Goku the skills, and in doing so, came the man Bodhi.
Wukong had no problem rebuking the God Realm, and should have been nowhere near as good at making a mess in the Heavenly Realm. And he actually had nothing to stop him from eating the Laojun five pots of gold dan! Also by the Laojun in the gossip furnace casting the vajra. Five elements gossip cycle. If Laojun intention to kill Wukong, just a little tampering, move the location of the Xun Gong, wind shift fire, Wukong will certainly turn into charcoal. But in fact, it is like the old gentleman to fulfill him!
Laojun actually doesn't like Wukong, which can be seen from his later words, so what kind of person can force him to do what he doesn't like to do?
Who is it that is not an immortal but can teach a disciple like Goku? Who was able to force Laojun to have to fulfill Goku? Who was able to be the master of the Golden Cicada? --
The answer is already crying out, Bodhi Laozu, the man I always thought was a Taoist immortal, is in fact, most likely, Sakyamuni Buddha himself!
The Monkey King and the Tang Monk are perhaps the two most important people in the Journey to the West, I said silently, this time Jingyan is no longer Jingyan but Jingyan. I was alone at the altar where no one was in sight, lonely, talking about gods and ghosts, and what I actually said was not just gods and ghosts ......
Speculation No. 2
I. The Journey to the West and the Enchantment of the Gods are closely linked
Mention the Ming writings Journey to the West and the Enchantment of the Gods, and I'm sure you won't be unfamiliar with them. The myths derived from the two works, such as "The Monkey King Wreaks Havoc in the Palace of Heaven" and "Nezha Raises the Sea," are even more familiar to everyone. Although the two novels are about different dynasties, the characters in them are inextricably linked. For example, Li Jing, Nezha, Mu Cha, and Yang Jian are all represented in both books. And Manjushri Guangfa Tianzun, Pu Xian Zhenzhen, Ci Hang Taoist, and Burning Lantern Taoist in Feudal Revelation of the Gods joined Buddhism after a number of years of cultivation into their proper bodies. They later became Manjushri Bodhisattva, Pratyekabuddha Bodhisattva, Guanyin Bodhisattva and Burning Lamp Upper Buddha respectively. These characters also appeared in Journey to the West. This shows how closely the two works are related.
II. Journey to the West" and "Enchantment of the Gods" in the powerful character profile
1. "Journey to the West" two giants
a. Rulai Buddha
Rulai Buddha, is the Western Ultimate Bliss World Shakyamuni venerable, Namo Amitabha Buddha. He cultivated a six-foot golden body on the top of Vulture Peak in the Tianzhu Spirit Mountain in the Western Niuga Continent. This person's magical powers are boundless. At his first appearance, he resolved a great difficulty in the Heavenly Court. Later on, he revealed himself many times and helped Wukong break through many trials and tribulations. It is called the giant in the Journey to the West.
b. Master Bodhi
Master Bodhi is an old immortal from overseas. He lives in deep mountains and does not show his head. Although his magic power is boundless, no one knows about it. It took only three years for this great immortal to make Sun Wukong learn the art of immortality, the seventy-two changes and the skill of somersault clouds. This laid a good foundation for the Monkey King to make trouble in the Heavenly Palace in the future and eventually become a Buddha. It can be seen that Master Bodhi is not an idle person.
2. The Five Teachers of the Feudal Deities
a. Laozi
Tai Shang Laojun. He was the eldest disciple of Old Man Hongjun and was in charge of the Human Sect. He came down from the mountain three times to help the Hierophant Sect forcefully repel the immortals of the Interceptor Sect. He has also defeated Lord Tongtian by transforming the Three Purities into a single breath. In the Journey to the West, he lived in the Heaven of Hate, and was one of the Three Ching Sect's masters, Taishang Daozu (太上道祖), or Taishang Laojun (太上老君), the ancestor of the Taiching Sacred Ground of Mixed Elementalism.
b. Yuan Shi Tian Zun
Yuan Shi Tian Zun was the second disciple of Hong Jun Lao Zu and was in charge of the Hierarchy. He had many disciples, including many famous ones. In Buddhism, the three Bodhisattvas, Manjushri, Puxian, and Guanyin, as well as Fearless Buddha, one of the Seven Buddhas of the Past, were all his disciples. Yang Jian, Nezha and Li Jing were all his disciples. He later became the head of the Three Ching Sect - the Jade Clear Sacred Land of the Ancestors of the Celestial Sect in Journey to the West.
c. Lord Tongtian
Lord Tongtian was the third disciple of Elder Hongjun and was in charge of the Interceptor Sect. He has the most disciples, but most of them are in abuses. But he has also made a lot of contributions to the heavens. Like the twenty-four star constellations under the Jade Emperor, the Thunder Goddess and the Universal Astrologer were almost all his disciples. The Godfather of Tongtian listened to the slanderous words of his disciples and set up the "Immortal Execution" and "Ten Thousand Immortals" formations to block Jiang Ziya's way. Later, thanks to the four godmothers to work together to break the formation. He is the other god of the three Qing sects - the holy land of the Qing dynasty Tongtian godfather Lingbao Tianzun.
d. The Taoist Master of Guidance
The Taoist Master of Guidance is the head of the Western Sect and lives in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. This person is six feet tall and has a yellow face. For many years he did not leave the place of purity. Later on, by the appointment of someone, three relics were taken down to kill the immortal gate, and broke the evil formation of Tongtian with Laozi and Yuan Shi***.
e.The Daoist Zhunti
The Daoist Zhunti was the second head of the Western Church. He had come to the Eastern Land many times to fulfill his destiny. He was more enlightened than Jieyin and helped the Hierophant Sect many times. It can be said that he is a master of both paths. The Pestle and Mortar and the Seven Treasure Tree in his hand are truly boundless in power. Lord Tongtian was twice defeated at the hands of Junti.
Three. Clues Hidden in the Journey to the West
Sun Wukong's master in the Journey to the West, Ancestor Bodhi, was an out-of-this-world deity. Since Sun Wukong had uncovered the Spirit Night Treasure Palace after practicing Taoism for 7 years and martial arts for 3 years in the Three Star Cave, there are many people who are extremely interested in his master, Ancestor Puti. So who is this person? In the "Journey to the West" did not even a little clue left? The answer is no.
First, let's take a look at Master Puti's residence. The Bodhi master lived in the West Niuga continent "Lingtai square inch mountain, oblique moon three-star hole" in. The first and last two words of "Lingtai Fangchun Mountain" are "Ling Mountain", and "Three Stars of the Slanting Moon" is a heavenly object, which alludes to the "sky". The "Three Stars of the Slanting Moon" is a heavenly object, alluding to the "sky". Put them together is: "heavenly spiritual mountain". And we know that Buddha precisely in the West Niuga Island, "Tianzhu Ling Mountain" in the Great Thunderbolt Temple. Is it really a coincidence that the names of these two mountains are so similar? Could there be any connection between Master Bodhi and Buddha Rulai?
When the Monkey King first met Guru Bodhi, Wu Cheng'en depicted it this way: "Guru Bodhi was seated on a platform, with thirty small immortals on either side of him. He was indeed: the Golden Immortal of Great Enlightenment, the Ancestor Bodhi of the Western Wonderful Face; born without perishing in three or three lines, with all the breath and all the spirit, and with all the compassion." (See the first chapter of Journey to the West). It can be seen that Ancestor Bodhi is also a venerable figure in the West. And Bodhi is the symbol of Western Buddhism. Does this mean that Guru Bodhi was a Buddha and not a Taoist? If he was a Buddha, then why did he know everything about Taoist culture? If he was a Taoist, then why is there a saying that "the Western Wonderful Face of Ancestor Bodhi"?
Four.
In Journey to the West, we can't solve the mystery of Bodhi's identity. But we do know that the characters in Journey to the West are closely related to the characters in Fengshen Yanyi. I have already mentioned this point earlier. Master Bodhi in Journey to the West gives the impression that Buddha and Taoism are one and the same. And it is precisely in Feudal Revelations that there exists a Taoist religion that seems to be a Buddha but is not a Buddha - the Western religion. There are two godmasters in the Western Cult, who have unlimited magical power. They once helped Lord Tai Shang Lao and Lord Yuan Shi Tian Zun to break the "Immortal Execution Formation" and "Ten Thousand Immortals Formation" set up by Lord Tong Tian. They are called the two top masters of "The Enchantment of Gods". One of them is called Daoist Guiding and the other is called Daoist Junti.
1. Daoist Receiver vs. Buddha Rulai
The Daoist Receiver lives in the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss and is six feet tall with a yellow face. He is reminiscent of Buddha Rulai in Journey to the West, who had already cultivated his six-foot golden body. The two look so similar and both are in charge of the Western Land of Ultimate Bliss. Could they be one and the same? Then let's see how the two authors describe the two characters.
a. The following passage is cut from the 78th episode of "The Enlightenment of the Gods":
The Daoist Receiver came to the East with him, as the Daoist Zhunti had said. I saw the foot step on the auspicious clouds, and in a blink of an eye, I arrived at the reed tent. Guangchengzi came to report to Laozi and the first said: "the West two honored teacher to carry on." Laozi and the first led the disciples down the tent to meet. See a man, the height of six feet. But see:
Da Xian barefoot jujube pear incense, foot on the auspicious clouds more unusual;
Twelve lotus stage performance of the treasure, eight virtue pool side of the white light.
Longevity is the same as that of heaven and earth, and the blessing is more than that of the flood;
The name of the relics is the birthplace of the child, and the ultimate bliss of leisure is the West.
That is to say, Laozi and Yuan Shi greeted Jieyin and Junti on the reed canopy, bowed and sat down.
b. Look again at the description of Rulai in the seventh book of Journey to the West:
Only the Barefoot Contessa arrived again. After bowing down to the Jade Emperor, he thanked the Buddha again, saying, "I am y impressed by the power of the law and have subdued the demonic monkeys. There is nothing to show respect, special cross pear two, fire dates several dedication." The poem says:
Daxian barefoot date pear incense, dedication to Maitreya life counts long.
The seven jewels of the lotus platform are as stable as the mountains, and the thousand gold flower seats are as beautiful as the brocade.
Longevity is the same as heaven and earth, and happiness is more than a flood of words.
Blessed with a life that is as long as it should be, and in the West, where there is a great deal of leisure and happiness.
Rulai again thanked. Called A Nuo, Ka Ye, will be offered by the things, one by one, the direction of the Jade Emperor before thank you feast.
c. In the "Enlightenment of the Gods", there is also such a paragraph:
The top of the Taoist priests now three sherds, shot to kill the immortal sword. The sword was like a nail, how to come down. The Western Sect Leader entered the Killing Immortal Gate and stood at the Killing Immortal Queue.
Many factors indicate that the Taoist priest is the Buddha who established Buddhism some years later. The Western religion is the predecessor of Buddhism.
2. The Paramount Daoist vs. the Bodhi Ancestor
Let's take a look at how the other two were evaluated in two more works:
a. The Paramount Daoist's first appearance is seen in the 61st episode of "The Enchantment of the Gods":
Wenshu Guangfa Heavenly Emperor heard someone at the back of his head call out, "Brother Daoist, leave the man under the sword! " Guangfa Tianzun recalled, could not recognize who this person; head pulled double bun, wearing a Taoist robe, the face of the yellow micro-whiskers, the Taoist said: "Audience!" Guangfa Tianzun replied, said: "Where did you come from, what is the matter to see the Oracle?" The Taoist said: "The original Taoist brother can not recognize me, I have a law to say, will know the end:
Dajue Golden Immortal not two times.
Not born, not perish three three lines, all gas all God ten thousand mercy.
Emptiness and silence naturally follow the changes, the true nature is left to its own devices;
The same life with the heavenly body of majesty, the great Dharma Master of the clear mind through the ages.
The Taoist said, "The poor Taoist is the Western Church under the Junti Taoist is also."
b. For the first appearance of the Bodhi Master, see Journey to the West, Book 1:
Seeing the Bodhi Master seated on the stage, flanked by thirty little fairies standing under the stage.
This is really:
The Golden Immortal of Great Enlightenment has no dirt, and the Ancestor Bodhi of the West has a wonderful appearance;
No birth, no extinction, no three-three lines, and the whole breath and the whole spirit are ten thousand mercies.
Emptiness and silence naturally follow the changes, the true nature is left to its own devices;
The same life as the heavenly body, the great Dharma Master of the clear mind through the ages.
Junti Taoist in "Enchantment of Gods" is an enlightened person. He has come to the East again many times to fulfill his destiny. He knows a lot about Eastern Taoism. He is also the second master of the Western religion. Naturally, he knew the culture of Buddhism very well. Master Bodhi in Journey to the West is both Buddhist and Taoist. His name is Bodhi and his body is Taoist. It can be seen that he has a very deep connection with Western Taoism. One of them was in charge of teaching in the land of Western bliss, and the other was a recluse in the Western Niugazhou religion. All indications are that the ancestor of Bodhi was the Paramount Daoist. It is only later that the Western religion merged into (or rather became) Buddhism, and the Daoist priest was renamed Ru Lai Buddha to lead the Buddhist disciples, and the Daoist priest was renamed Bodhi Ancestor, and retired to the mountains and forests to recuperate his body and mind.
V. The Answer Revealed
Based on the comments of the above two texts and four poems, we can conclude. That is, the Bodhi Ancestor is the Paramount Taoist, who is the disciple of Buddha Rulai. Both of them used to **** together in charge of the Western Sect. Later, Rulai cultivated a six-foot golden body, established Buddhism, and annexed the Western Sect. Since then, Master Bodhi has been living in seclusion, naming the high mountain "Lingtai Fangcun Mountain" as opposed to "Tianzhu Spirit Mountain". Afterwards, he set up his own Taoist temple to cultivate himself, and no one knew where he lived except the residents of the mountain. It is that Rulai, also do not know where his own brother in the body. He didn't even know that there were still immortals in the West Niuga Continent. Rulai once commented on the West Niuga Island: "I West Niuga Island, not greedy, not kill, raise the gas submerged in the spirit, although there is no real, everyone solid life" (see "Journey to the West" eighth). It can be seen that Rulai, who was also in the West Niuga Continent, was unaware of Bodhi's existence. From this we can see that Bodhi's Taoism is not inferior to Rulai's at all. He could even avoid Rulai's eyes.
Speculation No. 3
Ancestor Bodhi was one of the ten great disciples of Rudra, who practiced Taoism diligently before joining the Buddha's sect, and then worshipped Rudra as his master, the one who asked for the Buddha in the Diamond Sutra.
