Small and medium-sized enterprises or small and medium-sized enterprises, referred to as small and medium-sized enterprises, refer to small enterprises with few employees and small turnover. Such enterprises are usually funded by a single individual or several people, so most of them are directly managed by the owners and are less interfered by the outside world.

Characteristics of manufacturing enterprises:

[1] Manufacturing enterprises are profit-making economic organizations.

As an economic organization, manufacturing enterprises must pursue economic benefits and obtain profits. Profitability is the embodiment of the achievements made in the production and operation activities of enterprises, and it is also the basis for the survival and development of enterprises. It is different from public security, procuratorial work and courts organized by political power, from institutions, and from schools and hospitals in public institutions.

Manufacturing enterprises are economic organizations engaged in industrial production and operation activities or providing industrial services.

[3] Production enterprises are commodity producers and operators who are self-employed, responsible for their own profits and losses and independent accounting.

As an economic organization, a manufacturing enterprise must have certain manpower, material resources and financial resources, and must also have full autonomy in independent operation, including the right to dispose of assets and the right to produce and sell products. Under the planned economy system, enterprises are only appendages of state administrative departments, not real enterprises. Under the condition of market economy, enterprises must be producers and operators of commodities and the main body of market exchange.

[4] Manufacturing enterprises are economic entities with legal personality.
