China people readily accept western fantasy, but westerners don't accept China's fantasy Xian Xia. Why?

In my personal opinion, it should be that the level of telling stories, making movies and playing games in the modern west is higher, so western fantasy is more popular. In the past, when terms such as "magic furnace", "the planet is crying" and "the fountain of life" often appeared in game magazines and posters, their carriers were not western fantasy themes, but well-told game stories and well-made products.

Similarly, when Jackie Chan, Bruce Lee and others punched their legs on the big screen in the west, it was not because of the fantasy Xianxia theme, but because the story was well told or the products were well made. Fantasy or Xian Xia, they are just a carrier, not the theme itself. People who often write novels and have some experience should know that the carrier itself is only a means to attract the audience, and it is also an important basis for your story's specific temperament and worldview, but in the final analysis, the carrier is only the carrier, not the core content, not the theme.

Journey to the West has been popular in China for so many years, not because it is a novel about Buddhism and Taoism, but because its story is well told. The Lord of the Rings is popular all over the world, not because it is a fantasy novel, but because of its huge and exquisite world outlook, shocking heroic image, closely connected stories and exquisite words.
