Yancheng belongs to Jiangsu province.

Yancheng is located between 32 34 ′ ~ 34 28 ′ north latitude and119 27 ′ ~120 54 ′ east longitude. It borders the Yellow Sea in the east, Nantong and Taizhou in the south, Huai 'an and Yangzhou in the west, and Lianyungang across the Guanhe River in the north.

Yancheng has a total land area of 1693 1 km2, of which the coastal beach area is 455,300 hectares, accounting for 75% of the coastal beach area in Jiangsu Province. The coastline is 582 kilometers long, accounting for 56% of the total length of the coastline in Jiangsu Province.
