Inquiries about the May 5th Temple Fair in Guhe.

Wang Dafa Temple is located in the north bank of the south old Chuhe River in Guhe Town, formerly known as Guhe Dawang Temple. It was built in Shunzhi of Qing Dynasty for three years and has a history of 360 years.

According to the Records of Quanjiao County published by Kangxi in Qing Dynasty, the original temple was built next to the east gate of the county seat, and was often flooded because of its low terrain. Later, Yan Huaibao and Ma Chuanfeng, a group of salt gangs, under the sponsorship of boat people, built the King Temple after the Three Jin Dynasties on the north bank of the ancient river beach (Guhe Town). There is an underwater Dragon Palace (also known as the Four Kings of Jinlong) in the temple, so it is also called the King Temple of Jinlong Temple.

The fifth day of the fifth lunar month is the memorial day of Qu Yuan. More than 2000 years ago, during the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, Quanjiao belonged to the State of Chu. In memory of Qu Yuan, the author of the first poem in China's history, Lisao, and Dr. Chu, a temple fair was held at Dawang Temple from the fifth day to the seventh day of the fifth lunar month. The sparkling water surface of the Chuhe River was stirred by the sailors who participated in the dragon boat race, and the firecrackers and cheers were deafening. On both sides of the river, people are crowded and lively.

The hall is resplendent and magnificent, with the southwest Chu River rippling and the lotus pond surrounded by reeds. There are more than a dozen monks living in the temple, quiet and solemn, candlelight shining in the blue sky, chanting in class, and bells and drums ringing. Such a beautiful ancient temple is also a good place for literati to visit, recite poems and express their feelings through scenery. It is said that one day, a wanderer stood on the small bridge of the Temple Emperor with a mountain and looked out at the rising sun. He was inspired and sang the first couplet of "The fish in Qingxi is in his mouth at sunrise", looking for the second couplet. After many years, monks from a certain distance passed by this temple and readily agreed that "the sunset of the moon will reflect the lotus pond of the pool river", which shows how prominent the reputation of Dawang Temple is.

During the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression period, after the military and political organs of seven counties in eastern Anhui of the National Government were exiled to Guhe, the Dawang Temple was occupied by Guhe Primary School, the newspaper office in eastern Anhui, the joint schools of three counties and seven counties. After the founding of New China, Dawangmiao also worked as a grain depot, a farmers' normal school, a power plant, and a warehouse for production materials of district supply and marketing cooperatives.

After many vicissitudes of life and wind and rain, the Dawang Temple has been unrecognizable and devastated, and there are no cultural relics in the temple. 1978, the party's religious policy was further implemented. The abbot of Langya Temple, a native of Liu Xi Village, Guhe Town, was a master of orchard. Although he was in Langya Mountain, he did not forget his hometown. So he set aside a special fund from the 200,000 yuan donated by the Hong Kong sage to the restoration and reconstruction of Langya Temple for the restoration of Guhe Dawang Temple. After hearing the news, the faithful men and women in Guhe Town also spontaneously funded the construction of six flat tile houses for several Buddha statues such as Sakyamuni. 1993 12 the party Committee and government of guhe town complied with public opinion and decided to rebuild the king temple of guhe.
