Why don't modern Chinese people have "characters" in their names anymore?

I believe that there are still people today who have characters -- either famous artists or madmen -- but they are just not as common. I think there are three reasons why Chinese people today don't use their names: first (and most importantly): the modern household registration system came into being only after the founding of New China, and there was no real comprehensive household registration before that (and it wasn't complete in the Republic of China either), and the household registration limits the number of names people can use -- think about it, if the public security system registers a household, it has to write down everyone's name. think about it, if the public security system had to write down everyone's font size when registering household registration, how cumbersome would that be? And some people may have more than one character and number, so from an official point of view, the character and number have been abandoned; secondly, we have stepped into a modernized society, the pace of society is efficient and fast, the use of font size is obviously not in line with the trend of this social development, a person with only one name of course, come to a much simpler; thirdly, the development of modern science and technology and culture, so that the people of China no longer attach importance to the study of traditional culture, the literacy of national culture has greatly regressed, and the Chinese culture has become more and more important. National literacy has regressed greatly, for the font size is not well understood, which has also become an important reason for today's Chinese "name without words".
