If there is a celestial burial, the eagle will devour the body. Why keep the skull?

After the celestial burial, the eagle will eat all the meat on the corpse, and the bones will be fed to the eagle by the celestial burial master, but the skull will be preserved. There are two explanations for this practice, one is to prevent the murderous madman from entering the ranks of celestial burial, and the other is because of the temple rules formulated during the thirteenth reign.

The detailed reason for the first statement is that many, many years ago, a little boy witnessed the killing of three people from a tribe in Qinghai, and was so scared that he ran to the living Buddha V. The living Buddha appointed him as a celestial burial master in the temple. After he became a celestial burial master, he kept all the heads of the dead and piled them in the southeast corner of the yard. When the skull finally becomes a skeleton, it is stacked one by one. And he did this because he was afraid that the former killer would be mixed into the celestial burial team.

The second argument is that, for example, in the 13th century, a living Buddha in a temple in the county town made this temple rule, which continues to this day, but why he made this rule in the first place has never been known. Of course, it was later said that the reason why these heads were left was to warn tourists to do more good when they were alive, because only such heads were left after death. Only by doing good deeds before death can the soul enter heaven, otherwise it will enter hell.

The tradition of celestial burial has been preserved until now, and many people continue this tradition, giving the eagle meat and body, leaving only the head. This reason, more reliably, should be to remind the world to do more good before death.
