Yangni Town in Huixian County is named after the legend that floods silted valleys and dams. Its unique soil texture creates conditions for the development of clay sculpture. The building components made by masons, such as ridged beasts and tiles, are made of Yangni yellow soil, kneaded by hand and then fired. Because of its high quality, it is very famous in the local area. Painted clay sculpture crafts were called "playing with goods" in the old society, and their representative works were "Fat Baby, Goo Goo Chicken, Black Dog Whistle" df and other best-selling goods.

Yang Ni's colorful sculptures, which started in the two-week period and spread among the people for 3,000 years, are the oldest and most ethnic clay sculptures in China, which are basically the same as those in Fengxiang, Shaanxi. According to relevant folklore scholars' research, its painted patterns are similar to those of Western Zhou bronzes. Creative modeling with flowers, birds, fish, insects and auspicious birds and beasts as the main features is the remains of totem worship and deity worship in ancient China, which embodies the cultural characteristics of the totem era. Its production is very particular. Mud is used as the embryo material of Niyang Loess, which is refined through dozens of processes, such as drafting, molding, embryo turning, adhesive molding, polishing, painting, wiring and polishing.
