Seven schools of Chinese medicine?

Naming of academic schools of traditional Chinese medicine

Various academic schools of traditional Chinese medicine in the history of our country were naturally formed after a long period of academic activities. Its distinctive academic views and opinions are often put forward by members of an academic school themselves, but they are recognized by doctors in past dynasties. The naming of academic schools is often given and established by later generations. Because of this, the names of academic schools of TCM are not uniform. Some are named after representative figures, such as Hejian School and Danxi School. Some are named after disciplines, such as medical classics, classics and typhoid fever; Some are named after opinions or theories, such as Ziyin School, Warming School and Huitong School. Some are named after regions, such as Yishui School, Xin 'an School and Shaopai Typhoid. Inconsistency reflects diversity, so there is no need to insist on consistency.

Classification of academic schools of traditional Chinese medicine

In the long history of TCM development, there are many academic schools. It is generally believed that the school of traditional Chinese medicine was really formed in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties, represented by Liu, Liu, Liu, Liu and Liu, and it was based on Yun's view that "the door of Confucianism was in the Song Dynasty and the door of medicine was in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties" in the General Catalogue of Sikuquanshu. Mr. Xie, a modern Chinese medicine scholar, said in "On the Origin of Medicine in China": "After the Northern Song Dynasty, the new theory gradually flourished and reached its peak in the Jin and Yuan Dynasties. Liu Zhang, Zhu Li and Li Zhi each said their own words, arguing for the ancient side, and Confucianism has Zhu Cheng Wang Lu. " However, some scholars believe that as early as the Spring and Autumn Period and the Warring States Period, influenced by the academic atmosphere of a hundred schools of thought contending at that time, three schools of physicians appeared, which emphasized acupuncture, focused on users and emphasized pulse-taking. According to Mr Ren Yingqiu, the Han Dynasty has been divided into "medical classics" and "classic prescriptions". [4] "History of Han Art and Literature" said: "Those who study classics, the blood, classics, marrow, yin and yang, exterior and interior of primitive people, with the roots of all diseases and the points of life and death, use admonition, soup and fire to adjust the medicines in the right place." "Classic prescription, herbal stone is cold and warm, the disease is shallow and deep, the taste of fake medicine is suitable because of qi, and it is argued that five bitter and six spicy drugs cause fire and water to open and close the knot, and vice versa."

As for the number of academic schools of traditional Chinese medicine in ancient China, there are different opinions. Xie proposed Liu Hejian School, Xue Lizhai School, Zhao Xianke School and Li School. Mr. Fan Xingzhun put forward Hejian School, Yishui School, Dongyuan School, Danxi School, eclectic school, retro school and apostate school in A Brief History of China Medicine. The second edition of Theory of Traditional Chinese Medicine puts forward four schools of thought: Hejian, Yishui, typhoid fever and epidemic febrile diseases, and the fourth edition puts forward seven medical schools: medical classics, classic prescriptions, Hejian, Yishui, typhoid fever, warming and reinforcing, and meeting. The fifth and sixth editions of various theoretical textbooks of traditional Chinese medicine put forward seven medical schools: typhoid fever, Hejian, Yishui, Danxi, attacking evil, warming and reinforcing, and febrile diseases.

Consult the literature published in recent years about the academic schools of TCM, basically according to the five or six editions of textbooks of various theories of TCM. After careful analysis, these statements have their basis, but there is no strict distinction between "genre" and "genre". For example, the "Danxi" school is actually a school of Hejian school. As Mr. Wang said, "Two great doctors spread Liu's knowledge. One is Zhang Congzheng, and the other is Zhu Zhenheng. ...... Hejian school Zhu Zhenheng is another change, and he is a nourishing yin theorist of Hejian school. " 〔4〕
