Employment prospect of journalism and communication
After graduation, I can engage in editing, reporting, hosting, production, advertising and cultural and economic activities planning, computer network courseware development and production in news media institutions, publishing institutions, central and local government propaganda departments, enterprises and institutions, advertising companies, education departments, agricultural technology extension departments and other departments.
Specific mainstream employment destination
There are many employment destinations for communication graduates. On the whole, the employment destinations of journalism and communication graduates at present mainly include the following categories:
(A) the traditional media
At present, traditional paper media and radio and television media are the main bodies of China's media market, playing the mainstream role of "the mouthpiece of the masses and news propaganda", and are the preferred employment destinations for journalism graduates. There are various types of traditional media, and different traditional media have different requirements for talents.
1, newspaper
The powerful timeliness of electronic media forces newspaper media to give full play to the advantages of in-depth reporting and pay attention to investigative reporting and analytical reporting, thus putting forward more targeted requirements for candidates.
For example, the news department of Economic Observer asked reporters: "Good news sensitivity and breakthrough ability, strong writing skills; Experience in macroeconomics and policy, regional economy and survey report is preferred. "
According to the degree of enterprise and the maturity of enterprise operation, newspapers can be simply divided into high-end party newspapers, organ newspapers, industry newspapers, newspaper groups with high brands and local metropolis newspapers.
High-end party newspapers, such as People's Daily, Guangming Daily and Economic Daily, have limited recruitment places on campus every year, which is suitable for graduates from prestigious schools who value their identity and hope to have stable jobs.
Industry newspapers, such as government newspapers in some national departments, have high or low treatment, which is highly related to their industries. Graduates who have a strong interest in a certain industry can consider joining.
Generally speaking, although the treatment and status of the media in public institutions are guaranteed, it is not necessarily the best choice for graduates with news ideals and career pursuits, and needs to be considered according to their own conditions.
The well-known newspaper groups in China are well-paid (for example, employees of Southern Media and Guangzhou Daily can generally reach an annual salary of about 654.38+10,000 in three years), and there is a lot of room for career development. Of course, due to the limited number of places, the competition is fierce.
For example, in the campus recruitment of Southern Media in 2008, according to the author's understanding, thousands of people submitted resumes in Beijing alone, and only a few hundred people had the opportunity to write a written test, but only a few dozen people were really admitted.
The treatment of other regional newspaper groups is generally at the upper-middle level of wages in their cities, especially some metropolitan newspapers (such as Zhengzhou Dahe Daily, Sichuan Chengdu Business Daily and Hubei Chutian Metropolis Daily) which are monopolized in the local market, and the treatment is also considerable.
Graduates applying for journalism should give full play to their enthusiasm and initiative, learn about recruitment information through various information channels, and make preparations in advance (internship experience and published news works will be helpful). Most newspapers are more inclined to recruit candidates who have internship experience in well-known newspapers and have published certain news works.
2. Radio and television industry
According to the statistics of the Development Research Center of the State Administration of Radio, Film and Television, the annual growth rate of the number of radio and television employees in China is about 4%, and it is estimated that the number of radio and television employees will increase by about 654.38+million in 20 10 compared with 2006.
The work of radio and TV stations generally includes program director, reporter, host, producer, etc. As the media with the largest market share, radio and television programs have strong sociality, which requires practitioners to go deep into all aspects of society, be familiar with the planning and production process of programs, have strong communication skills, and be good at communicating with listeners and audiences.
At present, the broadcasting industry mostly adopts market-oriented operation, and a large number of talents are introduced every year. Although TV stations recruit a large number of people, the general treatment is low and the internship period of the project is long, so the actual competition pressure is great. Suitable for graduates who are really enthusiastic about the broadcasting industry and have outstanding ability in production and broadcasting technology.
If you have always been passionate about the broadcasting industry, I suggest you make a choice when applying for colleges and universities. For example, China Communication University (formerly Beijing Broadcasting Institute) has an unquestionable position in the broadcasting industry, and its extensive talent network and inherent disciplines have laid a good foundation for individuals to join the broadcasting industry.
