What does it mean to take credits in college

College credit is the credit system.

1) The credits are divided into compulsory credits and elective credits, of which the elective credits are divided into restricted credits and public elective credits.

2) Each course in the university has credits, and the number of credits is directly related to the number of hours. You can only graduate if you have taken all the credits in the program, and the way to get credits is to pass the final exam.

Credit (xuefen), is used to calculate the amount of student learning. A unit of measurement, calculated by the semester, the specific number of credits for each course and practical sessions to the provisions of the professional teaching plan shall prevail. Some schools also have a per-credit fee system. Credits allow students to be judged on the breadth of knowledge they have acquired during their time at the university; the more credits a student earns, the more he or she has learned. In some universities, credits have also become an important criterion for evaluating student excellence.
