Economic and industrial classification of the five East Asian countries
In eastern Asia, apart from China, there are three countries from east to west: Japan, North Korea and Mongolia.
1. Japan’s location and territorial composition Japan is an island country in the Western Pacific, facing my country, North Korea, and the Soviet Union across the sea.
The territory consists of four large islands, Hokkaido, Honshu, Shikoku, and Kyushu, and more than 1,000 nearby small islands. It has a winding coast and Duara Port.
(1) Mountainous terrain: Mountainous areas including mountains and hills account for 3/4 of Japan's area.
There are only some small plains scattered along the coast.
The Kanto Plain in Tokyo Bay in southeastern Honshu is the largest plain in Japan.
There are many active volcanoes distributed in the mountains. Mount Fuji, known as the "Holy Mountain", is also an active volcano with an altitude of 3776 meters and is the highest peak in Japan.
The top of the mountain is covered with snow, the slopes are densely forested, and the scenery is beautiful, making it a tourist attraction.
Japan has many earthquakes and tsunamis.
Japan is poor in minerals and only has large reserves of sulfur, but it is rich in forest and water resources.
There are not many land resources, and the land is narrow and densely populated.
(2) Maritime monsoon climate: All parts of the island country are very close to the sea and are deeply regulated by the ocean.
Compared with the Asian continent, Japan's monsoon climate has very obvious maritime characteristics. The annual temperature range is smaller than that of other parts of the continent at the same latitude, and there is more precipitation.
In summer when southeasterly winds prevail, there is particularly heavy rain on the Pacific side; in winter when northwest winds prevail, heavy snow falls along the Sea of ??Japan coast.
There are plum rainy weather from June to July, and typhoons are often hit at the turn of summer and autumn. The characteristics of East Asian agriculture are: slow innovation; intensive family specialization production; low productivity; effective market; land-saving and labor substitution production model.
Characteristics of East Asia's industry: Japan and South Korea, as representatives, have a high degree of modernization, are highly dependent on foreign countries, and are distributed in coastal areas.
Other areas are less industrialized.
