Chongqing University was founded on 1929. As early as 1940s, it was a national comprehensive university, which was famous at home and abroad. In 2000, it merged with chongqing jianzhu university and Chongqing Institute of Architecture to form a new Chongqing University, which is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education. Li Siguang, a famous geologist in China, once taught in our school, leaving a glorious history and precious spiritual wealth for the geology discipline in our school.

Chongqing University offers geology and mineral disciplines (engineering) and geoscience-related disciplines mainly including: Civil Engineering College, Resources and Environment College, Urban Construction and Environmental Engineering College, Construction Management and Real Estate College, Architectural Planning College, etc. Undergraduate majors in geology and mineral resources (engineering) include mineral resources engineering (mining engineering), and undergraduate majors in geoscience-related disciplines include civil engineering, environmental engineering and environmental science, engineering (construction) management, and urban planning.

The disciplines for cultivating geoscience postgraduates are mineral resources engineering and geological engineering, and the majors are mining engineering and geological engineering; The disciplines that train postgraduates in geoscience-related disciplines include environmental engineering and environmental science, civil engineering, engineering (construction) management, urban planning and so on. Their majors are environmental engineering, environmental science, geotechnical engineering, engineering (construction) management, urban planning and so on.

1. Present situation of geological teachers (geological engineering and mining engineering)

The current situation of geological teachers (including geological engineering and mining engineering disciplines) is shown in table 1.

At present, there are 1 academician (mining engineering discipline) and 9 doctoral supervisors (including 7 mining engineering and 2 geological engineering) in related research fields of this discipline.

2. Important measures for the construction of teaching staff

Chongqing University has long attached great importance to the construction of teachers in this discipline. Recently, the important measures for the construction of teachers in this discipline are:

1) In 2000, Chongqing University began to implement the development plan of geological engineering discipline (2000 ~ 2005), and the academic team construction plan of this discipline was implemented according to the Plan.

2) In 2000, the teaching reform project of geological engineering discipline was mainly funded (the amount was 3,000 yuan), and now it has entered the stage of conclusion.

3) In 200 1 year, the College of Civil Engineering funded the scientific research project1item selected by young teachers in this discipline (funding amount: 4,000 yuan).

1. Undergraduate students majoring in geology and the flow of graduates

From 65438 to 0980, chongqing jianzhu university began to recruit undergraduates majoring in geological engineering (engineering geology and hydrogeology). After four years of adjustment, four consecutive students were enrolled in 1985, 1986, 1987 and 1988. The overall teaching quality is excellent, with special emphasis on the cultivation of students' practical ability. All previous students have been well received by employers after graduation. For example, among the students of Grade 80, there are 3 doctors and 5 masters, most of whom have obtained senior titles, and nearly half of them are the heads of survey departments at the level of colleges, institutes and laboratories, becoming the backbone of production, scientific research and teaching units. Among the 85 graduates, 9 out of 28 are deputy directors, vice presidents and department heads. 17 obtained the registration qualification of geotechnical engineer, structural engineer, architect and real estate appraiser. In order to adapt to the increasingly fierce market economy competition, students strive to become generalists and have strong adaptability after taking part in work.

According to the requirements of the national adjustment of professional settings, since 199 1, the major of geological engineering has been changed to the direction of geotechnical engineering and architectural engineering foundation engineering. This major has passed the national professional evaluation twice in 1995 and 200 1, and it is one of the first ten universities in China to pass the professional evaluation.

Mining engineering is one of the earliest majors established in Chongqing University and one of the earliest institutions of higher learning in China. This subject enjoys a high reputation at home and abroad. Since its establishment, it has enrolled 2 ~ 4 undergraduate courses (60 ~ 120 students) every year, and the graduates have spread all over the country and even abroad in various related disciplines, and have also trained many outstanding talents for the mining engineering field of the motherland.

2. Interdisciplinary personnel training and professional personnel training.

The undergraduate majors of Chongqing University are civil engineering, environmental engineering and environmental science, engineering (construction) management and urban planning. These majors are to cultivate compound talents in engineering disciplines related to architecture and environmental safety. These majors are the earliest or earlier undergraduate enrollment majors in Chongqing University. Since its establishment, the undergraduate enrollment of the above majors is roughly shown in Table 2.

The disciplines that Chongqing University trains geoscience postgraduates are geological engineering and mineral resources engineering, and the majors are geological engineering and mining engineering. The disciplines that train postgraduates in geoscience-related disciplines include civil engineering, environmental engineering and environmental science, engineering (construction) management, urban planning and so on. , majoring in geotechnical engineering, environmental engineering, environmental science, engineering (construction) management, urban planning, etc.

Engineering geology and hydrogeology, as one of the main directions of geotechnical engineering, have trained six graduate students from 65438 to 0999, of whom three are teaching in universities and two are continuing to study for doctoral degrees. Since the establishment of the geological engineering master's degree awarding point in 2000, six graduate students have been enrolled.

Mining engineering is also one of the earliest disciplines for Chongqing University to recruit graduate students. Up to now, it has enrolled 6 ~ 10 master students and 8 ~ 12 doctoral students every year. Graduate students are all over the relevant disciplines at home and abroad, and many of them have achieved excellent results.

In order to ensure the quality of graduate students, make the graduate students trained in this major adapt to the needs of the development of socialist market economy, and get all-round development in morality, intelligence, physique and aesthetics, we should master solid basic theoretical knowledge and systematic professional knowledge such as mathematics, mechanics and geology, and understand the present situation, development trend and frontier fields of this discipline at home and abroad; Familiar with common testing and experimental analysis techniques in geological engineering field, with strong computer application or computer aided design ability; Be able to use the knowledge learned in the design survey, process optimization, construction project management and decision-making of geological engineering projects to solve practical engineering problems with certain difficulties in a certain direction, and be able to independently organize the construction or engineering evaluation of geological engineering projects; Proficient in a foreign language, and can read the foreign language materials of this major; The style of study is rigorous. As far as the College of Civil Engineering and the College of Resources and Environmental Engineering are concerned, the national and provincial key laboratories mainly include the Key Laboratory of Southwest Resources Development and Environmental Disaster Control Engineering of the Ministry of Education, the Key Laboratory of Energy and Mineral Resources Development and Environmental Destruction and Engineering Disaster in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area, the Geotechnical Engineering Laboratory, and the Building Environment and Equipment Engineering Experimental Center. In addition, the College of Civil Engineering has two experimental teaching centers for geotechnical engineering and structural engineering, including engineering geology and basic laboratories, three computer network centers and a provincial construction engineering quality testing center. Eight. International exchange and cooperation

Chongqing University has established long-term cooperative relations with nearly 70 well-known universities in the United States, Britain, France, Germany, Canada, Japan, Australia, Russia and China.

2. Cooperative education and scientific research

Chongqing University has hired nearly 65.438 million famous foreign scholars such as Feng Yuanzhen and Tian Changlin as honorary professors and consultant professors.
