Mulan 2 cartoon music appreciation

Mulan Valley Pipa Concerto, Tang Liangxing Pipa Solo Concerto, Conductor of Shanghai National Orchestra. The music tells the historical story of "Mulan joined the army as her father" and enthusiastically praises the heroine's brave, strong and patriotic feelings. Gu was composed according to the folk song "Mulan Ci" of the Northern Dynasties, and premiered at the concert "Shanghai Spring" in 1980. This work won the third prize of the Third National Musical Works (National Instrumental Music) Award. This single-movement concerto adopts a sonata-like structure: the main theme of the presentation part "Mulan loves her hometown" comes from the patriotic song "Mulan Ci" (Bai Qu), which was widely circulated during the May 4th Movement. It is simple and euphemistic and full of folk songs. Pushing, pulling, singing and wiping the pipa make it more feminine, which shows Mulan's gentle girl's character. The theme of the sub-department is lively Allegro, which is constantly echoed by pipa and band, showing Mulan's cool and heroic spirit when practicing martial arts. When the theme of the main part reappeared, the band kept playing, and the pipa repeatedly echoed with its fingers in the high-pitched area, which led to the climax of the presentation and expressed Mulan's love for her hometown. The unfolding part "Bravely Going to the Battlefield" consists of three parts: the "invasion" part begins with the band's strong dissonance, the bass instrument plays the theme of cruel invaders, and then the pipa plays a series of patterns with pine boards, depicting Mulan's anxiety when she hears the enemy's invasion. Then the band played a loud major melody, which showed Mulan's strong will to dress up as a woman for her father and join the army. The "going out" stage is unfolding in the rapid sound of hooves. Pipa uses the technique of "phoenix nodding" to describe the scene of horses galloping from far to near. "Fighting" is the climax of the whole song. Pipa uses traditional Wu Qu techniques, and through the rapid competition and frequent tone sandhi with the band, it shows the magnificent picture of Mulan's bloody battlefield. The reappearance "Return in Triumph", with the beginning of gongs and drums, depicts the warm scene of the villagers welcoming Mulan's triumph. Then Pipa played the theme after the main part was changed, and described Mulan's happy mood when she arranged women's clothes. At the end, the tone of "going out to war" appeared again, expressing Mulan's strong determination to be ready to cross the horse again at any time. This concerto has made a useful attempt in how to utilize and develop the traditional forms of national musical instruments and combine them with western musical forms and composition techniques.
