Peking Opera Singing Appreciation
Zhuang Yongping is a native of Shanghai, born in 1945. Musicologist. He is a member of the Shanghai Branch of the Chinese Musicians Association and a member of the Opera Musicians Association. He has been engaged in Peking Opera music for more than twenty years. He has published monographs such as Overview of the History of Opera Music, Research on Peking Opera Singing Music, Pipa Handbook, and Peking Hu Playing Method; edited China's first Dictionary of Chinese Music Themes - Instrumental Volume; and authored Shanghai Art History - Music History. He has published papers on opera and Beijing opera, such as "The Evolution and Development of Traditional Vocal Music in China", "Why the Development of Opera Music is the Most Important in China's Past", "The Relationship between Cavities and Words in Peking Opera Singing", and "A Study on Identifying the State Rhymes and Vocal Tones in Peking Opera", as well as more than 60 other papers on music. He has participated in the work of "Chinese Opera Music Integration-Shanghai Volume" and "Shanghai Peking Opera Journal".
