Traditional crops in Heilongjiang reclamation area

(1) Heilongjiang, known as the "granary of China", is located at high latitude and belongs to temperate monsoon climate, with little precipitation and insufficient heat. Agriculture is mainly dry farming, and the main food crops are spring wheat and corn, which are harvested once a year.

(2) Sanjiang Plain and Songnen Plain are two major commodity grain bases in Heilongjiang Province. As can be seen from the figure, the grain produced can be transported to Dalian by Harbin-Dalian railway, and then transported from Dalian to all parts of the world by sea.

(3) There is a heavy industry base in central and southern Liaoning, and the rich coal and iron resources and convenient transportation in this area provide favorable conditions for the development of this industrial base.
