Scholars divide the flood myth into pre-myth and post-myth. The pre-myth truly depicts the scene that human beings and animals are in the same boat and fighting the flood. The myth of flood in the later period is combined with the myth of brother and sister marriage, which scholars call "flood brother and sister spouse type"

The flood myth in Taiwan Province Province reflects the relationship between man and nature. The causes of floods are usually related to earthquakes, giant eels and snakes. They caused floods, flooded plains and hills, and washed away houses and crops.

The Amei Flood and the Myth of Human Re-transmission described that the arrival of the flood made all mankind exist, and only a local brother and sister, Bizhi Kalou and Ma Zhi Chiroque, drifted into the mountains in this mortar and survived. In order to reproduce, the brother and sister became husband and wife, and the descendants became "descendants of the wooden mortar." Kiki Khe and Batrau, another brother and sister, survived by siding. They rebuilt their homes in the mountains and finally got married, and their descendants became "descendants of Sting". "Wooden mortar successor" and "wallboard successor" formed two systems of Ah Mei.

Legend has it that before the flood, both A-mei and Han people had characters. The characters created by A-mei were carved on big stones, while those created by Han people were carved on wooden boards. Unexpectedly, after the flood, Ah Mui's words sank into the sea with the slate and were never found again. And the Chinese characters on the board have been passed down to this day.

A-mei has another legend. A long time ago, all members of a tribe by the sea went fishing. But as soon as we went into the sea, a strong earthquake happened. Perhaps the submarine volcano erupted and the sea began to get hot, so the tragedy happened. Almost everyone in the family suffered, leaving only a pair of clever brothers and sisters who escaped in a small boat. With wisdom and perseverance, they struggled with the raging sea for seven days and seven nights before drifting to the lava mountain in the east of Taiwan Province Province. When my brothers and sisters who were only seven or six years old escaped from the sea, they grabbed a handful of glutinous rice and helped them through the most difficult period. At this time, the sea gradually receded and plains and mountains reappeared. The two brothers and sisters found a residual sweet potato seedling and a few millet seeds on the land, so they began their hard work. They planted saplings and seeds, reclaimed a barren hill and built a hut to keep out the cold. The two children survived by wisdom and hard work. After more than ten years, when they became young people, they planted more food. They began to feel that their world was too lonely after all, so they got married. They gave birth to many children, and their children got married again ... In this way, they passed on from generation to generation and gradually formed a tribe. This is the later ah mui.
