What is the present situation and prospect of our national traditional culture?

Personally, I feel that the present situation of traditional culture is not optimistic. Both the inheritance of Chinese studies and intangible cultural heritage are declining, and the inheritance of cultural heritage is at risk of dating. Although the state has invested heavily in revitalizing traditional cultural heritage and adding Chinese studies courses in education, the results are minimal and the prospects are worrying.

As the only country among the four ancient civilizations that has preserved its traditional culture to this day, China's cultural influence and thickness are obvious to all. However, with the spread of western learning to the east in the Ming and Qing Dynasties and the rise of various cultural movements, traditional culture was constantly impacted and its cultural influence was greatly reduced.

Take sinology as an example. Although education strongly supports the revival of Chinese studies, in today's pragmatism-oriented society, people tend to have skills and pay less attention to spiritual prosperity. The school-based curriculum of Chinese studies, which used to have two or three classes a week, has been reduced under the influence of teaching indicators. Traditional Chinese textbooks have been dabbled in both ancient and modern China and foreign countries, but the length is too long, too wide and not accurate enough, so it is less likely to systematically understand and master traditional culture in Chinese classes. However, students do not pay enough attention to this part of traditional culture courses, and liberal arts education is not dominant under the modern education system.

On the other hand, in the inheritance of traditional material cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage, although the national capital investment encourages and protects the inheritance of craftsmen's skills, due to the squeeze out of market share, the assembly line operation of large industries is fast, good and cheap, which makes the market of traditional skills shrink. Old craftsmen stick to traditional crafts, but there are no new successors. Traditional technology is relatively backward, which is also a big reason. For example, the printing and dyeing technology uses natural crops. Although there are many kinds, it is easy to fade, the preservation time is not long, the production process is complex, the skills and energy of the labor force are great, and the raw materials are difficult to obtain. All these reasons make it difficult to get a better profit rate. Consumers' love for traditional culture is not enough, and their appreciation level needs to be improved, so they are not dominant in the consumer market. The present situation and prospect of traditional culture are still quite grim.
