Improve the market purchasing power of natural gas

In this case, if the EU wants to improve its purchasing power in the natural gas market, it must take relevant measures to finally control the investment development in natural gas trade.

At present, natural gas power generation accounts for one-fifth of the total electricity demand in the EU, and it is the most ideal transition fuel after nuclear energy. Unlike renewable energy, the production of natural gas does not depend on the weather, which can strengthen the stability of energy mix. In addition, compared with coal-fired power plants, the start-up time of natural gas system is shorter, so it can better adapt to the fluctuation of energy demand.

However, in recent years, the EU has become increasingly dependent on importing natural gas from Russia, which is used in many industrial equipment and power plants.

The EU needs to discuss whether it is possible for Europe to join forces to buy natural gas in bulk, which is conducive to further stabilizing relations with Russia and maintaining the internal stability of smaller member States.

More importantly, if the necessary infrastructure is not developed, the potential of natural gas as a transitional fuel cannot be fully explored. Investing in new LNG and CNG terminals can help the EU to diversify its natural gas supply, open its energy market, strengthen international cooperation, get rid of its dependence on Russian natural gas, and be in a favorable position in the negotiation of joint purchase of natural gas. In addition, increasing the number of natural gas storage facilities and improving storage capacity can cope with the impact of the rapid growth of natural gas consumption.

At the same time, modern coal-fired generator sets should be used as backup resources to make them come in handy under special circumstances. If the natural gas system becomes an investment project as it is at present, starting the natural gas system will help keep the price of natural gas stable.

Future energy mix

As we all know, the green transformation is irreversible. However, before green energy sources (renewable energy, hydrogen energy and nuclear energy) without emissions can ensure a stable and sustainable supply at a low price, we should establish an energy mix that will not cause economic turmoil.

Nuclear energy is very stable and green. We must build and regularly maintain nuclear power plants to ensure our economic development and increase the amount of renewable energy. At present, nuclear energy accounts for 70% of France's energy structure, which is one of the economies with the least carbon emissions in Europe.

In the process of energy transformation in Europe, each country will implement relevant measures according to its own ability, and the integration of energy market will play a very huge role, which is conducive to maintaining the energy price in the European market at a stable and reasonable level. Therefore, we must encourage European policymakers to use better methods to set goals in order to maintain certain feasibility in the future.
