Is Beijing dialect Mandarin?

Beijing dialect is not Mandarin, and Luanping County, Chengde City, Hebei Province is the national standard voice collection place.

Beijing dialect Putonghua is developed on the basis of Beijing dialect and Northern dialect, and it is a branch of Putonghua. Although the name has the word "Beijing", it is not in Beijing dialect. More accurately, Beijing Mandarin is the Rehe dialect, which is mainly distributed in Beijing, Chengde City, Hebei Province, Langfang City, Zhuozhou City, Chifeng City, Inner Mongolia, Chaoyang City, Liaoning Province, Jianchang County, Huludao City and some areas of Fuxin City.

In the sixth year of Yongzheng in Qing Dynasty, the Andrew Library was established, with Beijing Mandarin as the standard language, which was popularized throughout the country. Later, Beijing Mandarin gradually replaced Nanjing Mandarin as the mainstream standard language in China officialdom, and some people called it Northern Mandarin, which was called Southern Mandarin, corresponding to Nanjing Mandarin. In the late Qing Dynasty, Mandarin was compiled, and in the early Republic of China, the national pronunciation was proposed. After the "Beijing-Guangzhou Debate", a new national pronunciation based on Beijing Mandarin was implemented. Since then, Mandarin based on Northern Mandarin has become the official standard language of China.
