James Nicholas Gray's introduction
James Nicholas Gray (1944-) is an American information engineer. He studied at the University of California, Berkeley, and received a bachelor's degree in engineering mathematics from 1966 and a doctor's degree in computer science from 1969. He has worked in computer companies such as IBM, Tiandeng and Digido. 1995 became a Microsoft researcher. He developed databases and transaction processing systems, including IBM's System R, Microsoft's Terraserver and Skyserver. He put forward the concepts of data cube and locked particles. He also developed Windows Live Local. In 2007, he sailed to Fallon Island alone, intending to scatter his mother's ashes. On June 28th, 65438, his spaceship disappeared. On February 1 day, DigitalGlobe scanned the area and produced thousands of images. The image was placed on the Amazon mechanical Turk, hoping that people could work together to find his boat. On February 16, his family asked to cancel the search operation.
