What is polymer material?
Polymer materials are divided into natural polymer materials and synthetic polymer materials according to their sources.
Natural polymers are macromolecular substances existing in animals, plants and organisms, which can be divided into natural fibers, natural resins, natural rubber and animal glue. Synthetic polymer materials mainly refer to plastics, synthetic rubber and synthetic fibers, in addition to adhesives, coatings and various functional polymer materials. Synthetic polymer materials have properties that natural polymer materials do not have or are superior-lower density, higher mechanics, wear resistance, corrosion resistance, electrical insulation and so on.
Secondly, polymer materials are classified according to their uses.
Polymer materials are divided into rubber, fiber, plastic, polymer adhesive, polymer coating and polymer-based composite materials according to their characteristics.
Three, polymer materials according to the application function classification
According to the functional classification of materials, polymer materials can be divided into general polymer materials, special polymer materials and functional polymer materials. General polymer materials refer to polymer materials that can be produced on a large scale and have been widely used in the main fields of national economy such as construction, transportation, agriculture, electrical and electronic industry and people's daily life. Among them, it is divided into plastic, rubber, fiber, adhesive, paint and other different types. Special polymer materials are mainly a kind of polymer materials with excellent mechanical strength and heat resistance, such as polycarbonate, polyimide and other materials, which have been widely used in engineering materials. Functional polymer materials refer to polymer compounds that have specific functions and can be used as functional materials, including functional separation membranes, conductive materials, medical polymer materials, liquid crystal polymer materials and so on.
Four, according to the main chain structure of polymer classification
① carbon chain polymer: the molecular main chain consists of C atoms, such as PP, PE, PVC, etc.
(2) Heterochain polymers: The molecular backbone is composed of atoms such as C, O, N and P, such as polyamide, polyester and silicone oil.
(3) Elemental organic polymer: The molecular main chain contains no C atoms, only some heteroatoms. Such as silicone rubber.
Other classifications of verbs (abbreviation of verb)
According to the geometric shape of polymer backbone, it can be divided into linear polymer, branched polymer and bulk polymer.
According to the microscopic arrangement of polymers, they can be divided into crystalline polymers, semi-crystalline polymers and amorphous polymers.
