What is the origin and history of rice?
1993, a joint Chinese-American archaeological team discovered the world's earliest ancient cultivated rice in Yuchanyan, Daoxian County. Rice was first widely cultivated in China, then spread westward to India, and was introduced to southern Europe in the Middle Ages. According to historical records, rice was widely planted in Dayu period, which made Boyi distribute rice seeds to everyone and plant them in paddy fields.
Economic value:
Rice chaff is the shell of rice and an important source of animal feed. It is also used as a building material. Many traditional mud houses in rural Asia, such as round earth buildings in Hakka villages in China, contain rice bran. In modern society, rice bran has also been tried to be used in cement mixtures or to produce calcium phytate and inositol.
Straw is another unique economic by-product with a wide range of uses. In addition to cattle, sheep and other livestock, straw ropes, sandals and hemp fibers woven with straw are essential items for many farmers. There were also many houses with straw roofs in the early days.
