Site selection of Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences

Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences is located in Pingshan District.

According to the official bulletin of Shenzhen Municipal Government on March 25th, the general office of the municipal government has officially issued the construction plan of Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences. Shenzhen Academy of Medical Sciences is located in Pingshan District, and Pingshan Park of Shenzhen National High-tech Zone and Shenzhen National Biomedical Industry Base are also located in this district.

The plot is located at the southwest entrance of Pingshan Mountain, north of Maluanshan Country Park and within the scope of Bihu Cultural Health City. The initial land area is 465,438+00,000 square meters, and 200,000 square meters is reserved for future expansion.

On the south side of the plot is Nanping Expressway, which can reach the city center within 40 minutes. It is adjacent to Pingshan Campus of Shenzhen Kangning Hospital in the west, Pingshan People's Hospital (new campus) under construction in the east, and there is a Hong Kong famous doctor diagnosis and treatment center nearby. After the Academy of Medical Sciences is completed, it can form an agglomeration effect with surrounding medical institutions.

The Academy of Medical Sciences is scheduled to be completed in 2025, striving to become a world-renowned medical research institution by the middle of this century. This year, the dean will be recruited globally.

At present, there is only one national China Academy of Medical Sciences in China, and there are less than ten provincial academies of medical sciences (such as Sichuan Academy of Medical Sciences). As a city, it is extremely rare to build a medical school in Shenzhen, and the starting point is very high, which is against the world's top medical research and funding institutions such as NIH (National Institutes of Health).

The key to the high hopes of the central government lies in the "brand-new mechanism."
