What is soil testing?

Soil detection method includes two parts: pretreatment of soil samples and analysis and determination methods.

Pretreatment of soil samples: The collected soil samples should stop air drying in time to avoid mildew and deterioration. The method is to break the soil sample and spread it on clean paper, spread it into a thin layer and air dry it in a cool and ventilated place indoors, and turn it frequently to speed up the monotony. Avoid direct sunlight and stop grinding and sieving air-dried soil samples.

Analysis and determination methods: atomic absorption spectrometry, spectrophotometry, atomic fluorescence spectrometry, gas chromatography, electrochemistry and chemical analysis.

Soil environmental monitoring is an important means to understand the quality of soil environment. In order to prevent and control the harm of soil pollution, the degree and development trend of soil pollution were dynamically analyzed and determined. Including soil environmental quality status survey, regional soil environmental background value survey, soil pollution accident survey and dynamic observation of contaminated soil. Soil environmental monitoring generally includes preparation, distribution, sampling, sample preparation, analysis, testing and evaluation. Quality control/quality assurance should be carried out throughout.

Significance of soil testing

Soil environmental detection refers to determining the environmental quality or pollution degree and its changing trend by measuring the representative values of factors affecting soil environmental quality, so as to judge the quality of soil. What we usually call soil testing refers to soil environmental testing. Generally, it includes sample preparation, sampling, analysis methods, research results, data statistics, quality evaluation and other technical contents.

Due to the development of industry, the problem of soil degradation is becoming more and more serious, and the quantity and quality of land have declined, so the main purpose of soil testing is to test the quality standard of soil. Items that need to be measured will judge whether the soil is polluted or to what extent through various instruments. This is more beneficial for us to master soil quality, carry out scientific planting and balance fertilization.
