Why does finger prick needle bleed?

There are two situations that will lead to the outflow of clear liquid after pricking blood.

1, shallow thorn. Shallow needling is also commonly used for pricking blood. Shallow needling just opens a door on the acupoint to facilitate the outflow of blood and tissue fluid. Generally, shallow needle extrusion of clear liquid is due to the increase of extrusion pressure and relatively long extrusion time.

2, synovitis. If it is synovitis locally, pricking blood with triangular needle is mainly to release the effusion in synovial bursa. These clear liquids exist in the joints, and the more accumulated liquid, the swelling of the joints will be caused. Traditional Chinese medicine often uses triangular needle or fire needle to release the effusion in local joint cavity.
