What's a picaresque technique? How to use it?

Bi Xing is a traditional expression in Chinese poetry. Zhu Xi of the Song Dynasty accurately explained the basic characteristics of Bi and Xing as expression techniques. In layman's terms, Bi is a metaphor, which is a figurative analogy of a person or an object to make its characteristics more distinct and prominent.

Some poems use the ratio in individual places, while others use the ratio in the whole image, like the aria poems of the later generations; "Xing" means to rise, which is to use other things as the beginning of the poem, in order to arouse the content of the poem to be sung. Some "Xing" has the dual role of beginning and metaphor, so later the word "Bixing" is often used in conjunction with other words, exclusively to refer to the poem has a sense of trust.

Bixing first appeared in the Book of Songs. While the pi xing in the Book of Songs is often just a fragment of a poem, a simple simile and association, the Li Sao expresses its content in systematic pi xing after pi xing in a long composition.

For example, the poet compares himself to a woman, and from this he compares the relationship between men and women to that between a ruler and his ministers; he compares the jealousy of beauty among women to the cynicism of a group of small men; he compares the matchmaker to the one who seeks to get through to the king of Chu; and he compares the marriage contract to the encounter between a ruler and his ministers.

Other aspects also use more metaphors, such as driving a horse than governing the country, rules and regulations than the national law, etc., so that the emotions have a more specific attachment and support. In the "Li Sao" than and Xing, from the image itself, it seems to be fictional, is imaginary, but from the content expressed, thoughts and feelings, and completely realistic.
