Pugongshan culture

Pugong Mountain, with a special geographical position, was a sacred place for the people of Henan and Anhui in more than 80 counties in seven states at that time. Every year on the third day of the third lunar month, people go hiking, and men, women and children climb mountains on the Double Ninth Festival. Recently, the nostalgia of "selling cucumbers with cattle clothes and ancient willows", listening to the birdsong of "the rain whistling at dusk", was soaked by the freshness of "the sand road in the pine room is clean and mud-free", climbed to the top of the mountain, watched the clouds in Chaoyang, watched the sunset glow in Pushan, had a picnic bonfire, and the fishing boat sang late. What an honor!

For thousands of years, Pugongshan Temple Fair is the largest on the third day of the third lunar month. The traditional temple fair on March 3rd in China is a large-scale folk activity to celebrate the birthday of the heavenly queen revered by Taoism. On this day, the Jade Emperor and the heavenly Queen Mother held a grand flat peach party to entertain immortals from all walks of life. Celebrations will also be held in 36 caves and 72 blessed places in Taoist holy places around the world to show that people and heaven are happy together and enjoy each other. Before the Ming Dynasty, Pushan was a temple fair to commemorate the death of Pu Gongren, and it was also the third day of the third lunar month. Shintoism prevailed in the Ming Dynasty, and Pugong Festival was changed to March 3rd Temple Fair, and Pugong Temple was changed to Zhenwu Ancestral Temple respected by Taoism. On the day of the meeting, thousands of mountain people from Fiona Fang, including Gwangju, Huangzhou, Lu 'an, Xinyang, Chen Zhou, Yingzhou, Ruzhou and Cai Zhou, flocked to Pugong Mountain. According to historical records, there are hundreds of thousands of people a day at most. Regardless of Buddhism, Taoism and Confucianism, good men and women from all directions are in full swing and gathered in the ancient city of Xizhou. Until today's meeting, roads and paths are still close to each other, and people begin to move slowly along several winding and rugged mountain roads. There are vendors selling melon and fruit drinks, and there are also scented wax paper guns along the path. All kinds of jade antiques, the wearing of deities and buddhas, children's longevity locks and adult ribbons are colorful and lively. There is a jingle saying: there is a temple on Pugong Mountain. Although the small temple is smaller than the mountain, a pinch of god springs can cure all diseases, and the public will benefit today.

Pugong Mountain, the remaining vein of Dabie Mountain, covers an area of 4 square kilometers, with the highest elevation of 149.3 meters. It is located in the south bank of Huaihe River, 4 kilometers south of Xixian County, Henan Province. It is surrounded by Huai water, clouds steaming and Xia Wei, reflecting green hills and glittering, also known as Fuguangshan and Fuyishan. According to legend, in the Tang Dynasty, a Taoist named Pupu lived in seclusion in this mountain, collecting herbs for alchemy and saving the world. His virtue is admired by all. Later generations renamed this mountain Pugong Mountain in memory of him. In the first month of the lunar calendar in A.D. 1080, Su Dongpo, a famous writer in the Northern Song Dynasty, was demoted to Huangzhou as a group training assistant because of Wutai poetry case, passing through Gwangju (Pugong Mountain in the Northern Song Dynasty belongs to Gwangju) and once visited here. "Henan Tongzhi" contains: "Su Dongpo is the first peak in the southeast." In the Ming Dynasty, the monument was known as "the first peak in the southeast". For thousands of years, the Pugongshan Temple Fair on the third day of the third lunar month is quite large, and people from hundreds of miles away in Fiona Fang come to make wishes. By then, the mountains and rivers will be endless and bustling. Xia Yun, an Amin poet, has a poem praising the clouds: "Pushan Mountain turns back into the pillow and flows into the Huaihe River, overlapping green hills. It is suspected that the hibiscus is broken at the beginning and its vitality has not been collected. "
