On the Origin and Introduction of Teacher's Day

The 9th the National People's Congress Standing Committee (NPCSC) will celebrate Teachers' Day.

Make a resolution to designate September 10 as China Teachers' Day. Respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching is a fine tradition of China. As early as the Western Zhou Dynasty in 1 1 century BC, it was put forward that "a disciple should be a teacher and respect his father", and Confucius, a great educator in ancient times, also left a series of wise sayings, such as "teaching without distinction", "learning from foreigners and learning from foreigners". Teachers who preach, teach and dispel doubts are praised by the people of China as engineers of human soul. In fact, as early as 1932, the government of the Republic of China designated June 6 as Teacher's Day. After liberation, June 6th was abolished as Teacher's Day and changed to May 1st International Labor Day. However, Teacher's Day has no separate activities and no characteristics. September 10 Teacher's Day is set in consideration of the new school year in universities, middle schools and primary schools all over the country, and schools should have a new atmosphere. When freshmen enter school, respecting teachers and attaching importance to teaching can create a good atmosphere of "teachers teach well and students learn well" 1985 September 10 is the first teachers' day in China. Since then, teachers have their own festivals.

World Teachers' Day

(10.05) To commemorate 1966, the International Labour Organization (ILO) and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) jointly issued the Proposal on the Status of Teachers, and UNESCO designated 10.05 as the World Teacher's Day in 1994.
