What are the major international disputes in modern times?

Legal disputes: Known as "adjudicatable disputes" in traditional international law, legal disputes refer to disputes whose respective claims and propositions are based on international law, and also disputes that can be resolved through legal methods. Such disputes usually involve the rights and interests of the parties recognized and protected by international law.

Political disputes: known as "non-arbitrable disputes" in traditional international law, political disputes refer to disputes arising from the political interests of the countries concerned, and are usually considered as disputes that cannot be resolved by legal means or that the parties concerned are unwilling to do so. Generally, such disputes have a great impact on the independence and sovereignty of the parties to the dispute, and it is difficult or unacceptable for the parties to solve them through legal means.

Mixed dispute: It involves both the legal rights and the political interests of the parties to the dispute. In international relations, most international disputes are mixed disputes, that is, conflicts of political interests often contain legal factors or are manifested in the form of legal disputes. The settlement of mixed international disputes can be legal, political or both.

Fact dispute: a dispute arising from a dispute over the authenticity of a fact or situation. Usually, both parties to the dispute are not clear about the facts, or have different understandings.
