Modern analysis of qigong

Just as traditional Chinese medicine is a miracle in the history of science, China's traditional idea of keeping in good health and its achievement method, although many empirical things have been eliminated in western experimental science, "Qigong" has been well preserved and has made outstanding achievements.

Since the introduction of Qigong therapy by Liu in Beidaihe cadre sanatorium in 1950s, its curative effect is not as good as that of western methods, which has gradually attracted the attention of the government and people. Since then, through the establishment of "Qigong" sanatorium, the organization of "Qigong" scientific research conference, the training of new "Qigong" teachers, and the convening of a national application and research report meeting, we have the following understanding of the nature of China's traditional health preservation movement, commonly known as "Qigong":

(1) "Qigong" is a physical and mental exercise method based on the theory of meridians and qi and blood in traditional Chinese medicine, which uses consciousness to adjust itself;

(2) The exercise process of "Qigong" is to improve people's physiological function and mental state through psychological activities and consciousness control, so as to achieve the purposes of fitness, disease prevention, treatment, intelligence enhancement and longevity;

(3) The key points of Qigong exercise are:

(1) regulating the mind-calming the heart and calming the nerves, eliminating distracting thoughts and cultivating "true qi" (the so-called combination of human vitality, Shui Gu and oxygen essence);

(2) pranayama-consciousness regulates breathing and transports essence;

(3) physical adjustment-relax limbs, coordinate the adjustment and pranayama of the heart.
