1. The White-haired Girl

A five-act opera, written by He Jingzhi, Ding Yi, and composed by Marco and Li Huanzhi at the Lu Xun Academy of Literature and Art in Yan'an in 1945, is China's first new opera, developed on the basis of the new rice-planting song movement in 1943. It is the first new opera in China, developed on the basis of the new Yangge movement in 1943, and is a symbol of the maturity of the new opera in China.
