Where Longquan Baojian originates from

Longquan City, Zhejiang Province.

Longquan Sword, one of the ten famous swords in ancient China, also known as Longyuan Sword, began in the Spring and Autumn and Warring States period, more than 2,600 years ago, is a famous sword in ancient China, the integrity of the sword of high purity. Legend has it that it was cast by two great sword masters, Ouyezi and Ganjun.

Legend has it that in order to cast this sword, Ouyezi and Ganjun excavated Mount Ci, released the stream in the mountain, and drew it to the seven pools surrounded by the seven stars of the Big Dipper beside the sword casting furnace, which is called "Seven Stars". After the completion of the sword, when looking down at the sword, it is like climbing a high mountain and looking down into an abyss, as if there is a huge dragon lying on the ground in an ethereal depth. It is called "Dragon Abyss". Therefore, the name of this sword is "Seven Stars Dragon Abyss", or "Dragon Abyss Sword" for short.

The Historical Status of Longquan Sword

Because of the fame of Longquan Sword, and it is said that Ou Yezi forged this sword in Maigang City of Henan Province, which was called Baizi State in ancient times. As early as the Han Dynasty, it was honored as a "precious sword" and became the "imperial sword" given by feudal emperors to their beloved ministers.

Ministers with this "imperial sword" could "decapitate and then report". It is also used by the princes and nobles to tribute, reward, gift of precious gifts, to show off their status and power of the sign.
