Separation method for separating precipitate mixed in crude salt solution

The separation method for separating the precipitate mixed in the crude salt solution is filtration. Because sediment is insoluble in water and salt is soluble in water, it can be removed by filtration.

Filtration is an operation that suspended liquid (or gas) (or exothermic gas containing solid particles) permeates the medium under the action of driving force or other external forces, and the solid particles and other substances are intercepted by the filter medium, so that the solid and other substances are separated from the liquid (or gas).

Principle: A method of separating insoluble solid from liquid by using the solubility difference of substances. For example, a small amount of sediment in the crude salt is removed by filtration.

Instruments: funnel, beaker, glass rod, iron frame (iron ring), filter paper.

Operation method:

Even if the filter paper is wet, it clings to the inner wall of the funnel, and no bubbles remain. The edge of the filter paper is slightly lower than that of the funnel. The liquid level is lower than the edge of the filter paper. When pouring wine, the beaker mouth should be close to the glass rod. The lower end of the glass rod is close to the three layers of filter paper. The nozzle at the lower end of the funnel is close to the inner wall of the beaker.
