I am an out-and-out Chaoshan person. I lived in Chaoshan for 20 years, and then I lived in Guangshen 1 1 year. So looking back at Chaoshan people, there will be some feelings.

(1) Chaoshan people are generally considered as a group of people who dare to fight and fight. Our favorite Minnan song is Love Will Win, which is still very popular today. It is generally agreed that people in Chaoshan area like to struggle rather than be mediocre. Everyone likes to do things well and achieve their own career.

(2) Chaoshan people like to do business. Because the resources of Chaoshan people are relatively scarce, the land is small and there are many people. In the early days, there was a story about a red-headed ship going out to sea to make a living, going down to Nanyang and going to Hong Kong. Many Chaoshan people live in Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Dongguan and Zhuhai, and doing business is the main way to make a living. Some people start from a small business, open a grocery store or snack bar, then start a bigger trade, open a factory and so on.

(3) Chaoshan people have a strong sense of family. Many villages in Chaoshan still maintain family relations, all have genealogy, and people living in the same village have the same surname. So many things will have a sense of family ceremony. For example, worshipping God on holidays and praying for good weather are all family matters.

(4) Chaoshan people pay more attention to their families. Many people will think that Chaoshan people are masculine and women have no status. Actually, I think it's caused by social division of labor. Because Chaoshan people are generally male-dominated, male-dominated, and male-dominated are all working hard to do business outside, and there must be one person to maintain the family, so this is borne by women.

But generally speaking, men will bear the whole family's economy, but they are also very good to women and have a heavy family concept. Once married, give priority to family life.
