It is a decorative color variety, and now this decorative color has been applied to home decoration. So what is a drop of powder and gold, and how is this decorative painting made?

First, a brief introduction to dipping powder and gilding

This ancient Han folk production technology was widely used as early as the Tang Dynasty. China has a long history of powder dipping and bronzing, and the powder dipping process is a variety of traditional production processes in China.

The technique of draining powder and gilding gold is a common technique in traditional Chinese color carving, mural painting and architectural decoration. In ancient times, this technology was mostly used for local decoration, such as umbrellas, car ornaments, court costumes, armor, ladies' headdresses and so on. It was only in modern times that powder immersion bronzing was widely used in murals. This method is easy to learn and the picture is simple and rich.

The special feature of powder leaching process is that it is higher than the surface of the object, and gold, silver foil and coloring are stuck on it. It feels thick, hard and luxurious, and at the same time, it can increase the three-dimensional sense. Painted wooden coffins unearthed from Mawangdui in the Western Han Dynasty have raised thin line patterns similar to powder immersion effect, and are painted in various colors, so the relief effect is low. The application of powder immersion technology was widely used in the prosperous Tang Dynasty, such as the bodhi tree pole in Cave 223 in Dunhuang, and the powder immersion gold plating technology was used on the figures, which formed a rich decorative art effect. In the murals of Yongle Palace in Shaanxi in the Yuan Dynasty and fahai temple in Beijing in the Ming Dynasty, the application of draining powder has reached a very exquisite level. The ancient buildings in Qing Dynasty inherited the powder dipping technology, and fully applied it to the color paintings of Hexi, Zi Xuan, Soviet-style and ordinary houses. They often use patterns of lines, piles, lace and water murals, as well as home panels and arches of ancient buildings. Some of them are only used in local or independent decorative items and handicrafts to improve the decoration, craftsmanship and artistry of production.

Second, the production process of powder dipping and bronzing

Copy the drawings on the screen first, then drain the powder according to the line draft, and then color and paste the gold after the powder line is dry. Generally, the color of asphalt painting can be simpler and thicker, because gold and silver can produce good decorative interest on a heavier foundation. The traditional bronzing process of asphalt painting is to carefully paint gold glue oil on the drainage line (tung oil is boiled with a proper amount of varnish), and paste gold foil after 80% drying. Too dry, the gold foil is easy to fall off; If it is too wet, gold and silver will not shine.

Third, the production steps of dipping powder and gilding

1. Nail the skeleton on the back with splint or plywood.

2. Apply white latex on the nailed board surface, then spread the board surface with white coarse cotton cloth, flatten it, brush it by hand or row, and smooth it until the white latex is dry.

3. Sketch with pencil or charcoal.

4. Mix the white latex and lithopone into paste, pour it into a blank latex bottle, cut the white latex bottle mouth into the same size with a knife according to the line thickness, squeeze the white latex bottle by hand, and set the line along the outline of the picture. If there is no white latex bottle, you can drain the slurry with a pen.

5. After draining the contour line, draw a picture with gouache, acrylic or oil painting pigment.

6. After the color filling is completed, adjust the gold and silver powder with a brush and draw lines. The finished picture is clean and gorgeous.
