What is traditional street dance?
Hip-hop is a general term for all kinds of hip-hop, including mechanical dance and break dance. It originated from the impromptu dance movements of American street dancers. These street dancers are mainly black or Mexican. Most of these popular street dances originated in Brooklyn, new york, USA. Some black or Mexican children dance in the street all day, forming various factions and naturally developing different dances.
1992 at the beginning, there was a kind of "in-situ hip-hop", without those big moves and footwork movements, not to mention the ground movements similar to gymnastics in break dancing. Its unique style lies in paying attention to the coordination of the body, attaching importance to the rhythm of the upper body, and adding a lot of head and hand movements. We can see this new dance style in Michael Jackson, Maria Kelly and MTV of Backstreet Boys.
