Batik printing technology in Xiangxi

The batik printing of Miao people in Xiangxi dialect area is to carve patterns with thin wooden boards, press them on white cloth, pour wax juice into the patterns, mix them with lime and glue juice to make paste, brush them on the carved patterns, then put the cloth into a dyeing vat for dyeing, and finally take out the wax painting or lime to wash them off. The patterns are mainly flowers and birds, insects, butterflies and geometric figures.
