II. Gao Cen Poetry School

1. Introduction

Gao Cen Poetry School, one of the schools of poetry in the prosperous Tang Dynasty in China, namely Frontier Poetry School, is mainly represented by Gao Shi and Cen Can. His poems mainly describe the frontier war, the customs and customs of the frontier fortress, and various contradictions brought about by the war, such as parting, homesickness, always in my heart and so on.

In form, there are mostly seven-character lines and five or seven-character quatrains, and the poetic style is tragic and vigorous, which is the best expression of the prosperous Tang Dynasty. Besides Gao and Cen, there are also Wang Changling, Li Jie, Cui Hao, Wang Zhihuan and William Wang.

② Bie Dong Da (Gao Shi in Tang Dynasty)

Original text:

A thousand miles away in Huang Yun, it is daytime, and the north wind blows geese and snow.

Mochow doesn't have a bosom friend in the future. Who knows you in the world?

Translation:

Thousands of miles away in Huang Yun, the sky is dark, and the north wind is blowing heavy snow.

don't worry that there is no confidant in the road ahead. Who in the world doesn't know you?
