At the fourth meeting of the UNESCO Intergovernmental Committee for the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage held from September 28th to June 54381October 2nd, 2009, China announced that the Chinese paper-cutting project was included in the "Representative List of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity".

On 20 18 12, the general office of the Ministry of Education announced Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics as the heritage base of Chinese excellent traditional culture in paper cutting.
