What is the meaning of the five Fuwa represent

Fuwa is the mascot of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, designed by Mr. Han Meilin, a professor at the Academy of Fine Arts at Tsinghua University. On November 11, 2005, exactly 1,000 days before the opening of the 29th Olympic Games, it was officially released.

The "Fuwa" are five anthropomorphic dolls whose prototypes and headdresses imply a connection with the sea, forest, fire, earth and sky, and who apply traditional Chinese artistic expressions to demonstrate the depth and richness of the splendid Chinese culture. The five Fuwa are called "Beibei", "Jingjing", "Huanhuan", "Yingying" and "Nini". Each of them takes a word in their names and sequentially forms a harmonic "Beijing welcomes you".

Each doll of the Beijing Olympics mascot represents a good wish: BeiBei symbolizes prosperity, JingJing symbolizes joy, HuanHuan symbolizes passion, YingYing symbolizes health, and NiNi symbolizes good luck.
