What inspiration does surrealist sculpture get from Dada artists?
Duchamp, a Dadaist artist, exhibited ordinary objects in daily life as works of art. He created "Bottle Rack" at 19 14, which challenged the traditional aesthetic concept of sculpture. Surrealist sculptors directly inherited Duchamp's thoughts, but they were not as radical as Duchamp. They still insist on sculpture creation and only use ready-made products in their works. Inspired by Freud's psychoanalytic theory, surrealist artists are determined to explore the unconscious and irrational spiritual world of human beings. They are good at combining discordant parts and creating some new forms that are chaotic and can't be classified, but such works can arouse people's rich associations, which is the greatest charm of this art.
