The definition, performance and role of traditional materials

PE, called polyethylene, is a polymer organic compound with the simplest structure. It is the most widely used polymer material in the world today and is polymerized from ethylene.

It is divided into two types: low molecular weight and high molecular weight. Low molecular weight: liquid, colorless, odorless, insoluble in water, density is 0.92 g/cm3, and can be used as lubricants and coatings; high molecular weight: generally solid, milky white

, has high thermoplasticity, feels waxy to the touch, and has a density between 0.92 and 0.96 g/cm3.

It is corrosion-resistant and has good insulation properties.

PE belongs to the plastic category and is characterized by being soft, flammable, easy to process, insoluble in water, and has very little water absorption.

Commonly used to make: electrical insulation materials; used as materials to resist corrosion chemical reagents, and can be used as chemical structural materials; used in packaging.
