What are the characteristics of Dragon Boat Festival?

On May 5th, it was Duanyang. The door is full of incense. Eat zongzi and sprinkle sugar. Dragon boat sails happily. "This song is the Dragon Boat Festival on the fifth day of the fifth lunar month. Dragon Boat Festival is a traditional folk festival in China, also known as Duanyang Festival and Double Ninth Festival.

On the Dragon Boat Festival, people make paper-cuts with the images of "Five Poisons" (referring to scorpions, centipedes, poisonous snakes, toads and geckos) as symbols of doors. Dragon boat racing and eating zongzi are the main activities of the Dragon Boat Festival. According to legend, these folk activities are to commemorate the great patriotic poet Qu Yuan more than 2,200 years ago. After Qu Yuan threw himself into the river, people rowed boats from all directions to save Qu Yuan. They threw zongzi into the river to feed fish and shrimp to prevent them from eating Qu Yuan's body. This is a folklore about rowing dragon boats and eating zongzi on the Dragon Boat Festival.
