The environment of Huajie Festival

Flower Street Festival in Duanyang, Yiliang is a traditional folk festival with a long history. It originated in the Ming Dynasty and was called Flower Market in ancient times. It is the most influential festival in yiliang county, central Yunnan.

Yiliang has fertile land, rich products and humid climate, with an annual average temperature of 16.8 1℃ and a frost-free period of more than 300 days. The territory is rich in water resources, with abundant sunshine in winter and spring and abundant rain in summer and autumn, which provides unique natural conditions for flower production.

Yiliang has a long history of planting and enjoying flowers. As early as the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Yiliang began to introduce and cultivate flowers, which prevailed in wealthy families and temples in the Qing Dynasty. In the early years of the Republic of China, there were more than 250 kinds of flowers in the county. By the 1970s, the production area of flowers and trees recovered in Yiliang exceeded 100 mu, with more than 65,438+000 varieties. Relying on the famous "Wanjia Garden", Yunnan Camellia, White Orchid, Gardenia, Osmanthus fragrans, Bougainvillea, Orchid, etc. are favored and become influential traditional flowers in the province. Up to now, the planting area of flowers in the county has exceeded 1 10,000 mu, and there are more than 1 100 varieties. The output value of the flower industry is over 100 million yuan, making it the largest supply base of potted flowers, bonsai and flower seedlings in the province.
