Overview of October Military Academy

Nanjing October Military Academy is a social practice moral education base for teenagers, which integrates military training, national defense education, patriotism education, national spirit education, revolutionary tradition education, ideal and belief education, civic moral education, legal discipline education, production and life labor exercise and psychological quality training. According to the training concept of "situational education and activity education", it aims to cooperate with full-time schools to better complete the educational content of social practice courses and implement quality education more comprehensively, so as to achieve the goal of improving students' moral education quality more comprehensively.

The original site of October Military Academy is located in October Village, Qixia District. In July 2006, it was moved to the 3 12 side of the national highway at the fork road outside Taipingmen, covering an area of nearly 200 mu. The facilities that have been built now include: a training ground for 2,000 people, a barracks and dining hall for 2,000 people, a standard guest room for 300 people, various conference halls and conference rooms, an indoor comprehensive training hall of 1500 square meters, a national defense education hall, a barbecue field (the barbecue field can provide barbecue entertainment for 1500 people at the same time), and Shuiqiao World. There are climbing wall and shooting ranges that meet international competition standards, and a military paradise with artillery positions (ancient guns, cannons, howitzers, cannons), fighters and other weapons. There are "Long March Road", "Military Obstacle Training Ground" and "Psychological Development Training Camp". The national defense education center systematically introduces the weapons and military forces of China, the United States, Russia, Britain and France through pictures, words, objects or models. "Long March Road" has more than 30 scenic spots that reflect the important meetings, major events and important battles in the Red Army's Long March, such as the evacuation from Ruijin, the bloody battle of Xiangjiang River, the breakthrough of Wujiang River, Sidu Chishui River, Zunyi Conference, Qiaodu Jinsha River, the forced crossing of Dadu River, the flying capture of Luding Bridge and Snow Mountain Grassland. Many project attractions have formed a number of practical education bases with rich educational connotations.

October Military Academy receives students' military training, spring and autumn tours and summer camps, and can also receive group visits from enterprises and institutions, outward bound training, shooting and rock climbing, and entertainment and leisure projects.
