Overview of chord tones
Chords: A chord is a combination of three (or more) different scales in a certain relationship. The notes of a chord can be played separately or simultaneously, but if they are played separately, they are called broken chords (or dispersed chords). Chords can be played in thirds or in non-thirds, and in traditional harmony, they are composed in thirds.
