Laiwu people are so far away from Jinan that their dialects and customs are different. Can they blend in?

Among the original 17 cities in Shandong Province, Laiwu has always been in an awkward position. As a prefecture-level city, except Laiwu Steel, there is no competent enterprise to support the local economic development. Surrounding cities, whether Jinan, Zibo or Tai 'an, all have their own economic characteristics and large economic scale. Under such an objective background, Laiwu merged into Jinan not to integrate dialect customs, but to use Jinan's status as the capital city to create a convenient road for Laiwu's economic transformation and development.

It is true that there is a big gap between Laiwu and Jinan in dialect and folk customs, but compared with the development of urban economy, these factors are not important. If we can improve the economic development level of Laiwu by building a one-hour life circle, the integration of customs and habits will gradually achieve results. After all, ordinary people care about the quality of life and income level, not whether dialects and customs can be integrated into Jinan people, even if they do as the Romans do.

For a prefecture-level city whose economic level has been unable to make a breakthrough, it is naturally welcome to merge into the provincial capital city. Government officials, enterprises and people will benefit greatly from it and improve their quality of life. However, it is unrealistic to completely integrate in a short time, and even it is relatively difficult to integrate many government functions, but this will not become an obstacle to promoting Laiwu's economic development. The key point is that Laiwu has become an administrative unit under Jinan, which on the surface is administrative demotion.

Undoubtedly, Laiwu District of Jinan City is an indisputable fact. Although it has not made outstanding achievements in economic development, it is believed that with the passage of time, it will show the forward-looking advantages of this integration. I believe that enterprises and people who have benefited a lot will actively integrate into Jinan's business system and living atmosphere. Even if it is difficult to achieve the expected results in the short term, as long as the relevant policies are unswervingly implemented, it is bound to achieve twice the result with half the effort in the future development process.
